I've been playing guitar since 14 yrs old and singing since 18 or 19 yrs old, still not that great, and finally taking voice lessons.
What was the first concert you ever went to?
A band called Pomeroy at a New Year's Eve show in Omaha, NE. I was 14 I think. The energy and musicianship of those guys was very memorable.
What gear do you use?
I have a Breedlove Oregon CE and a Martin DRS2. Also a Yamaha keyboard and an LTD (I think) bass guitar.
What are you looking for from Fandalism?
Collaborators! Someone who's better at lyrics than I am? I put out some gems every now and then, but mostly I struggle with lyrics.
Who was your biggest musical influence growing up?
Oldies, CSN, Grateful Dead, Metallica, Pantera, Sublime, RHCP. That's a pretty good snapshot list of the music I listened to growing up.
Are you in a band? Have you been in bands?
Not in a band now. I've been in a few. Alt. Rock, power-folk (apparently). We all met through Craigslist mostly :)
If you could jam with anyone, who would it be?
CSN, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, Julia Michaels
What's the biggest audience you ever performed to? What's the smallest?
200 ish people was probably the largest crowd. The smallest crowd was probably to the sound guy and the bartender.
You're stuck on a desert island and only get to bring one album with you. What do you pick?
Ed Sheeran Divide
Such good songwriting. It's smashed to all hell into the loudness war, but the quality of the songs makes up for it. First heard it when it came out, bought it right away. It's crazy all the different styles this guy can do.
