Tomlin - Guitar, Vocals - Ellie Rhee - John Martyn cover Traditional song based on John Martyn's version. Ellie Rhee, so dear to me Is gone forever more And our home was down in Tennessee Before this cruel war Carry me back to Tennessee That's where I long to be Among the fields of yellow, yellow corn With my darling Ellie Rhee Well, why should I from day to day Keep wishing to be free From the master I run away For to be with my Ellie Rhee Carry me back to Tennessee That's where I long to be Among the fields of yellow, yellow corn With my darling Ellie Rhee Oh Ellie Rhee so dear to me She's gone forever more And our home was down, down in Tennessee Before this cruel war Carry me back to Tennessee That's where I long to be Among the fields of yellow, yellow corn With my darling my Ellie Rhee

My father (song and lyrics: Tomlin) My father has something I can't explain I know he used to feel the same And when he's all alone he finds his way My father has something I can't relate He lost his secrets in his head But when I find him home He smiles and open the door When I think about the old days The birthday parties and countless times He drove us home alone In his bycicle My father built castles in the sand He waters our garden every day He's expecting grow something good And now I know what I've become And think about what we have done We have lost something in the way It doesn't matter I know It doesn't matter You know It will be better soon My words are showing signs of age The time keeps flowing through my veins And when I think I'm lost I look ahead My father is mowing the lawn again He waters our garden every day He's expecting grow something good And now I know what I've become And think about what we have done We have lost something in the way It doesn't matter I know It doesn't matter You know It will be better soon All instruments and vocals by Tomlin. Stephen Stills Manassas - Bound to Fall One of my favourites albums! It was really fun to record this track. Hope you enjoy your listening. There's a YT link above in case you are unable to play directly here in the page. Lyrics: Just as everythings going fine Lose my grip and slide Bounce the rock and and catch the ball bound to fall Fall stumble or toe the line See my face and hide Catch the tears I've cried From reality it seems I've strayed Tired of all the silly games I play From reality it seems I've strayed Tired of all the silly games I play Just as everythings going fine See my life in rhyme Hear my hand slip from the wall bound to fall Fall, stumble and reaching blind Oh, how hard I've tried Possibly I've died https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QbYuqE7Uqrg

Just now - John Martyn (cover) Searching back through the friends I’ve known Sometimes sad for the way it’s grown Ranging up and ranging out And trying to change my ways about There’s a place in the leaf, a place in the bow I’ve found a place for me Just now, just now Just now. Moving on with every word Moving with all the words I heard Turning the wheel as fast as I can Turning the wheel to make me a man There’s a man in the moon, a man in the sea Growing strong, there’s a man in me Just now just now Just now. No behind and no before There’s no need to worry any more Happy then, happy now There’s always a way to get happy somehow Friend on the road, friend in the home A better friend now than I’ve ever known Just now, just now Just now. Searching back for the friends I’ve known Sometimes sad for the way it’s grown Changing up and ranging out And trying to change my ways about There’s a place in the leaf, a place in the bow I’ve found a place for me Just now, just now Just now, just now.

Lotta love - Neil Young (acoustic cover version) Simple acoustic version of Neil's "Lotta Love". The track is well known from Nicolette Larson cover in 1978. Lotta Love (Neil Young) It's gonna take a lotta love To change the way things are. It's gonna take a lotta love Or we won't get too far. So if you look in my direction And we don't see eye to eye, My heart needs protection And so do I. It's gonna take a lotta love To get us thru the night. It's gonna take a lotta love To make things work out right. So if you are out there waitin' I hope you show up soon, 'Cause my heart needs relatin' Not solitude. Gotta lotta love Gotta lotta love. It's gonna take a lotta love To change the way things are. It's gonna take a lotta love Or we won't get too far. It's gonna take a lotta love To change the way things are. It's gonna take a lotta love Or we won't get too far.

Sunday Morning The idea of this song was to translate the feelings about my sunday's mornings, maybe the only time when I really can relax a bit haha... busy modern world. The footage's are from my home. Hope you enjoy it. And enjoy your sunday morning (if you are in the morning in your timezone... :-)). If not you can imagine (as I sometimes do when I'm tired during the week hehe...) Lyrics: It's sunday morning Before the dawn The world keeps turning And the stars fading out The street is empty They are all inside I keep on walking Feeling the sun warming the ground Oh and it seems that it's alright And the life is not so hard And the love is still growing... On sunday mornings I can't deny It's when I think About the regrets in my life No cars no worries A silent path Then I can hear Only the sounds in my head Oh and it seems that it's alright And the life is not so hard And the love is still growing People opening their doors Turning on their noisy cars Driving fast without a hope With their minds full of worries

Magnolia - (JJ Cale/Poco) cover My version of this JJ Cale's song, based on Poco's version. I did a live acoustic version some time ago, and decided to record a electric version. I recorded all instruments including drums (not my instrument but I play with it too haha...). It took me some time to record and mix, I don't have much time lately to record... That's it, hope you enjoy this beautiful ballad, I like it a lot and had fun producing it. Whippoorwill's singing, soft summer breeze; Makes me think of my baby left down in New Orleans, I left down in New Orleans Magnolia you sweet thing, you're driving me mad Got to get back to you, baby; You're the best I ever had; You're the best I ever had; You whisper, "Good Morning" so gently in my ear; I'm coming to you baby; I'll soon be there I'll soon be there Magnolia you sweet thing, you're driving me mad Got to get back to you, baby; You're the best I ever had; You're the best I ever had;

Collab with our friend Staffan! He recorded voices and acoustic guitar and sent it to me some months ago. So I played a electric bass, and added some strings and brass to it. It was nice that he enjoyed the arrangements in the first auditions. Since we collaborate for some years now, and I think I already know what he expect. Nice synergy! hope you enjoy it. We both like a lot this album, and it was really a joy to work in this version.

Jony Tomelin - Both of Us (feat. Yvalain) In a friday when I came back home after the job, I had this song idea about a country style song. With the chords and lyrics finished, after some days, I've recorded a guide track with drums and guitar, and asked Yvalain if he was interested in try a bass track over it. He liked the idea. So after a couple of days I was presented with a nice and suitable bass track! With the drums recorded already and with Yvalain bass, the foundation of the song was nice and inspired me to record more layers of instruments and voices. Jony Tomelin: Song and lyrics, acoustic guitars, resonator guitar, drums, percussions, electric guitar, lap steel guitar, vocals, keyboards (strings). Yvalain: Electric bass. Produced by Jony Tomelin (2018). Looking to the horizon through the rain When the day is done And the bad things that happened today With the worries were lost in the way I've been through a bunch of emotions these days But I need to say That my heart remains the same in every way Despite the empty words I've heard from them today And I love your smile when you're looking through the gate You know it makes me high, to see you once again And I hope that all this moments Stay forever in the memories of both of us If it's a dream don't wake me up, oh no... Looking to the horizon on a sunny day Clouds have gone away And the lines of time are growing in my face With the words I've had to hear yesterday While I can't find a path to leave this in the past I sit here and stay Waiting for the happiness come back to me Looking far away as far as I can see And I love your smile when you're looking through the gate You know it makes me high, to see you once again And I hope that all this moments Stay forever in the memories of both of us If it's a dream don't wake me up, oh no... "Memories" featuring Jony Tomelin & Cyril Elieric This a new remixed version of this song, made by Yvalain using the tracks I still have in my computer. Early days on fandalism hehe... Yvalain sent an old idea with lyrics and melody. At the time I used the same idea but with new lyrics and added some extra parts. I asked Cyril to record some guitars and bass. The original mix is quite muddy, and Yvalain dud a great job revisiting this. :-)

Gordon Lightfoot - Beautiful (cover version) Happy new year everyone! :-) Long time I don't post something. This is a video I did in my home studio playing this Lightfoot's song, not so well known but I like the chords progression and melody. I've changed some chords to add a different vibe for thevoice/guitar arrangement (the original have some more elements). I confess I don't feel much comfortable in front of the camera haha... But I will make some more takes like this, perhaps I will be more confident in the next attempts.

So far away (Carole King cover acoustic) Recorded with one mic, one take vocals/guitar. From her great Tapestry album. Note: I had to use a capo on 4th fret to adjust the key to my range. :-) Lyrics: So far away, doesn't anybody stay in one place anymore? It would be so fine to see your face at my door Doesn't help to know you're just time away Long ago I reached for you and there you stood Holding you again could only do me good How I wish I could, but you're so far away One more song about movin' along the highway Can't say much of anything that's new If I could only work this life out my way I'd rather spend in bein' close to you. But you're so far away, doesn't anybody stay in one place anymore It would be so fine to see your face at my door Doesn't help to know you're so far away You're so far away Traveling around sure get's me down and lonely Nothing else to do but close my mind I sure hope the road dont come to own me There so many dreams I've yet to find But you're so far away, doesn't anybody stay in one place anymore It would be so fine to see your face at my door And it doesn't help to know that you're so far away You're so far away, you're so far away Hey, you're so far away

Paul Davis - Cool night (1981). Ok, something different now... ;-) I've been working (slowly) in some original songs with a friend, and also working out a great collaboration with Annemiek and Janice Zamb, that hopefully will be finished soon. :-) And in between, I found some interesting backing tracks and I am having fun recording vocals to it. It's good for practice too. :-) Hope you have a great time. Backing track (instruments and backing vocals): Audio Choice. Lyrics: I sometimes wonder why all the flowers have to die I dream about you and now summer's come and gone And the nights they seem so long Come on over tonight, come on over It's gonna be a cool night Just let me hold you by the firelight If it don't feel right, you can go Oh, when the cool night Brings back memories of a good life When this love was not so old I won't talk about the past How love's supposed to last forever And you, don't have to take a stand, lay out any plans Come on over tonight, come on over Come on over tonight, come on over It's gonna be a cool night Just let me hold you by the firelight If it don't feel right you can go On a cool night, let me hold you On a cool, just let me hold you by the firelight If it don't feel right you can go

Lines in a song (original) When I get home early after the job, sometimes I pick up the guitar and sit outdoor to write. And so I see children going home from school (the picture is a view from my yard). So I wrote this tune about this moments of apreciation of solitude, and I think it captured the mood. Lyrics (sorry for the mistakes, I know that there will be some :-)): The wind upon the sky makes lovely pictures in the clouds The trees and branches touch the fences and the ground Words and lines, and memories trying to raise from the past Sounds of time, I watch you trying to get back home While kids are walking through the streets and laughing loud I write some words that makes some balance with that sounds And the lines in the song It makes me wonder Where I can go Inside my troubled mind A world where no one can go The trees along the street are heavy full of flowers I wonder where are you? When we will meet again...

Reelin in the years - Steely Dan Karaoke time with my friend Mauricio Garay hehe... Nice song by Steely Dan. Mauricio found a great backing track and we decided to record the vocals to it. Mauricio worked out the main vocals and I did the backing vocals/harmonies, sent the track to Maurcio for the mix. It was fun to figure out that harmonies, and a pleausre to work with Maurcio! Enjoy! Lead Vocal and mixing: Mauricio Garay Chorus and all background Vocals : Jony Tomelin Instrumentation: Recisio Steely Dan is an American jazz rock band whose music also blends elements of crossover jazz, latin music, blue-eyed soul, R&B, boogie, and pop. Founded by core members Walter Becker (guitars, backing vocals) and Donald Fagen (keyboards, lead vocals) in 1972, the band enjoyed critical and commercial success starting from the early 1970s until breaking up in 1981. Rolling Stone has called them "the perfect musical antiheroes for the Seventies". Steely Dan reunited in 1993 and has toured steadily ever since All Rights belong to the owner.

What happened to me? Did you ever love a girl who Walked right out on you You should know just how I'm feeling Why I'm so blue Why I'm so blue How can I forget those nights When she'd kiss me soft and true And whisper words only lovers know I Love You I Love You We'll I've made up my mind I'll find a new girl Who'll love me tenderly Forget the past I left behind now to sad memories Soft winds blow in the summertime...

Somewhere (original) - Jony Tomelin You know that I've been waiting for so long For something you don't understand And while the river flows in this small town I walk in the streets through the dawn Lights in the park, Shades that I can't remember A stranger sitting in a bench Thinking about you... I couldn't realize the time passing by The colours of the dawn reflecting the sky And while I watch the past the night is gone And I know that I should go... The wine and that old guitar I ask you: Where are your friends? You said: they are living their own lives somewhere Far from my eyes the bird flies alone I couldn't realize the time passing by The colours of the dawn reflecting the sky And while I watch the past the night is gone And I know that I should go... Away... -- All instruments by Jony Tomelin. Produced by Jony Tomelin (2016) Intruments recorded: Octave Mandolin, Acoustic guitar, Resonator guitar, Bass, Drums, Strings (keyboard).

CARPET OF THE SUN (Renaissance). From their album Ashes are burning (1973). I had to change the key and melody to sing it. Annie Haslam have a 5 octaves vocals range, impossible to me to get close, even in my range hehe... For those that don't know their work I recommend a listen. Lyrics: Come along with me Down into the world of seeing Come and you'll be free Take the time to find the feeling See everything on it's own And you'll find you know the way And you'll know the things you're shown Owe everything to do the day See the carpet of the sun The green grass soft and sweet Sands upon the shores of time Of ocean mountains deep Part of the world that you live in You are the part that you're giving Come into the day Feel the sunshine warmth around you Sounds from far away Music of the love that found you The seed that you plant today Tomorrow will be a tree And living goese on this way It's all part of you and me See the carpet of the sun The green grass soft and sweet Sands upon the shores of time Of ocean mountains deep Part of the world that you live in You are the part that you're giving See the carpet of the sun See the carpet of the sun See the carpet of the sun See the carpet of the sun

Valerie Hall asked me to help her developing one of her old songs. After receive some of demos, we decided to work in this track, "Winner". The idea was to make something more rock oriented, 90's feel. So I recorded e-drums in my roland v-kit, and it was an experience since I don't play drums (I have this kit for recordings with friends in my studio). Then I recorded the other instruments, bass, guitars, keys... And sent the backing track to Valerie. She returned the vocals track and I worked out the mix. And finally, she worked out the video. I'm glad I could help her with her original song! Sorry for not being around here these days to support your works. I hope I can up more songs soon and listen the new songs. :-) Hope you enjoy.

Num dia cinza (In a grey day) Collaboration with Herve Southman and Ciril Elieric I would like to dedicate this song to our friend Marlon, who died a few months ago (Leukemia) at age of 30. We were friend since we were kids, played in bands together… and we did some collaborations here too. I wrote the lyrics with him in mind. His profile: https://fandalism.com/mjanke Herve sent this beautiful piano track with Cyril playing the bass lines. It took some time to write the lyrics and develop the melody, but it’s finally here. Hope you enjoy. Herve: Piano. Cyril: Bass. Jony: Lyrics, vocals, strings arrangement, acoustic guitar and production. Translated lyrics: In the afternoon the song comes The shadow of the fence changes the direction The warm wind brings me the certainty That the end is continuation With no hope of knowing how to live The way they expect from someone who has grown Take your own way and don’t look back So many people wanted to be on this road The sound of footsteps in the house The distant echoes of a guitar Enter the ranch through the window Rays of a sun that no one draw And the song is emerging in the fields In the warm water, the reflection of the eyes In a grey day the rain don’t comes At the top of the hill the clouds wave They give me a silent goodbye And take shape all around ...

"Our House" (CSNY) - a cover by Annemiek, Marc, Madison,Jony and Mel Some time ago I saw a post from Annemiek playing this beautiful song on piano and told her I was interested in record vocals to it. This is Melvin singing the main vocals and bass (plus production and video), Marc Roberge on drums, Madison Mueller and myself on the harmonies and Annemiek on piano. IF YOU GO AWAY Once again I catch myself looking at the riverflow Floating memories, time, trees shaking in the wind Echoes from the past when I was younger, when I was there Looking at the things we’ve done, it seems easy to say Thinking about where I’ve been No one here will know if I just go way Once again I am here thinking about the future And the seeds that I threw away through the window You and I could be fine together you know But the life showed us another way to go Thinking about a free way Thinking about what you said No one here will know if I just go away And if you go forever I will never know I will just find, I’ll try a way and grow old To find a way and grow old Once again I’m singing songs to myself and no one will know.

LAUGHING (David Crosby cover) NOTE: THIS A NEW UPLOAD TO YOUTUBE, BUT THE TRACK IS THE SAME OF THE SOUNDCLOUD UPLOAD (SC seems having some issues in the player here). One of my favourite Crosby's songs. This is based in the version he did with The Byrds in their reunion in 1973. I had great time recording it last weekend. Drums is a v-drum played in the keyboard by myself (it explains why the drummer seems to be drunk Hehe...) Recorded a bass track and two acoustic 6 strings. In the mid passages there's a third acoustic in Nashville tuning. The tuning is quite unusual but i like it a lot: DADDGD. The vocals are more complicated than it seems. There's a compromise between sing it with passion and remain in tune Hehe... To me of course, not to Crosby. :-) Hope you enjoy. :-)

EQUINÓCIO (EQUINOX) This is an original of mine. I recorded two acoustic strings guitars (standard 6 strings and Nashville tuning), electric bass, keyboards, electric guitar and vocals. Hope you enjoy! Note: There are subtle things and details in the song and it's not a loud music, so I recommend to listen in good speakers or headphones if possible! This nice picture is from "Marco Zero", a building here in Brazil in the city of Macapá, in the equator line. So during the equinox its shadow is projected over the monument line in the ground. The lyrics brings this ideas related to seasons changes and parallels with our own lives, not sure if it can be understood, but here are the translated lyrics: A breeze always comes from somewhere On the other side should be warmer Just makes me wonder where I should be And the shadow that walks the ground Are the leaves waving in the wind The sun goes down, time to say goodbye In the early hours of the morning Opens the eyes of your room And start thinking about where you should be And happiness will soon search for But will forget to look inside Somewhere I know you will find I'm going to find myself somewhere Searching without direction I will turn back time In a straight and clean road I found myself Walking to the horizon I'm follow the sun I'm following you But time passed and did not notice That the path became narrow Like a song, it was just illusion It's already dark, I will not return I won't move on or stay But I will try to look inside... Mar de ideias - Jony Tomelin & Tiago Cardozo Hi friends, this is a track I recorded with my friend Tiago Cardozo (drummer). We had good times writing and recording the song and video. :-) The video takes are from the audio recording process. The drums and percussion were recorded in an old ranch, and the other instruments and vocals in my home studio. Here the lyrics translation: Sea of ideas The broken bridge does not exclude me from the other side The precarious life is no excuse to not try to fight Eyes closed I walk in the fields with nothing The desperate struggle reluctant longing The voice of the roads echoing the corners of an altar Eyes closed sitting in the corner Imagining wild people dancing alone And sailing alone at sea of ideas Falling trying to fly Running to cross… The night is surprised by the fire of the excluded people Life is created in the reflection of black eyes The last hours the dawn and light made of ashes The ember fades The skin burns in the afternoon sun The sound of the road Approaches with the dust and a cross Vibrant colors trying to impose their knowledge Imagining wild people dancing alone And sailing alone at sea of ideas Falling trying to fly Running to cross the sea

Advice for the young at heart - Tears for Fears cover/version. A collaboration with our friends Cyril and Valerie! The song is from their album The seeds of love (1989), that is in their own words very influenced by The Beatles music. It have a great production, not so electronic, more organic than their previous works in my opinion. I'm not a big fan of the 80's pop/new wave, but TFF made a good job in this album. The song started from a sketch based in a midi file, then I recorded acoustic guitar and the main vocals. Cyril added the great guitars in the chorus, and Valerie sang the doubled vocals and all the (wonderful) harmonies! Cyril: Electric guitars Jony: Acoustic guitar, vocals and production Valerie: Vocals Hope you enjoy, it was fun to collaborate with both. :-)

Jony Tomelin e Tiago Cardozo - Fire Brothers (Quicksilver Messenger Service) (cover/version) Recorded this track wirh my friend Tiago Cardozo last week. We played in a band years ago (he is a drummer). I started recording the acoustic guitars and vocals, and ask him if he was interested in record percussion to it. So he came to my home studio and recorded bongos and other indigenous percussions. After this I recorded a bass track and also some details with keyboard. The video is a mix of takes recorded with webcam during the audio recording process, just added some background images to give a psychedelic feel. Hope you enjoy. It was nice to record this cover. Cardozo's percussions gave it another dimension, quite different from the original that it more focused on piano. And if you're not familiar, I encourage you to discover Quicksilver Messenger Service, they were a great jam band and quite creative in the studio too. :-)

Tanto Faz (Whatever) - Original. The picture is a sunset view from my window. Lyrics translation: Without shelter, the birds depart from us Without care, we change direction Without warning, without seeing reason. To make sense, we live without thinking Lost time, do not back, as the song We heard from afar There is nothing hidden in the shadows Just pieces of darkness But the light that says that calms you It's just another illusion I walk in the middle path Without thinking about it makes me ill Or if it brings joys and peace, whatever ... On the horizon, the birds fly to the south It's a warning, everything will improve Will worsen, but nothing will change. Just believe, does not turn back time But we must live without hesitation Without complaint, because right now… There is nothing hidden in the shadows Just pieces of darkness But the light that says that calms you It's just another illusion I walk in the middle path Without thinking about it makes me ill Or the joys and peace, It is not sad or meets, Whatever ...

ON THE ROAD (original) On the horizon, I see some white clouds, But my thoughts are so grey Driving fast, but watching all around I think it’s going to rain So many times, I tried to understand Believe in what you said I watch the city lights so far away It’s the end of my day I remember the taste of the wine Lift the spirit so high Beside the river, the grass was so green Was not hard to be free And you know, there’s a reason to live. When all the things comes close to the end Then we see what we’re missing It is hard to deal with the choices driving fast Looking over the shoulders Spending time watching pictures on the walls Never painting something new Waiting hours stuck on the road In the glass, morning dew But you know, there’s a reason to live And you know that we got to be free And you know you are asking for help But you cannot find the time To do the things you love Watch the sun looking down upon the hill Another point of view So find a reason to drive and go ahead I cannot do it for you In the morning clouds close to the ground But the road is clear enough The grass is greener and if you look again You will see the way to go And you know you got a reason to live You know, that you got to be free And you know you are asking for help But you need to have some time To do the things you love.

MIRRORS OF A DREAM (original) Another example of my weird songs….  Sometimes in the weekends, I play guitar in this ranch in the house I live. Just a moment to stay alone, watch the things around and write something. This time I tried to capture this intimate mood. A mix of thoughts and things happening while watching the farm… Mirrors of a dreamer In the garden watching the clouds in the sky See the blue bird flying high going to the river Watching the autumn wind drawing pictures in the clouds And the time just passing by, flowing to the river All I want is fly over the fences Suddenly arrive and never touch the ground People working, walking in the fields in a distant mountain They can't see my lonely eyes, mirrors of a dreamer And a house no windows no doors to stop me But I don't wanna be inside, someone watching me All I want is fly and sit beside a river Water in motion, carrying away my thoughts. This mysterious way that you talk to me It's like a window locked inside another window And a picture hanged on the wall of that house It makes me wonder where we're going, mirrors of a dreamer All I want is fly over your river My wings in motion, embracing the dream...

A FEVER DREAM (for "The Experiment" collaboration) :-) This is a song I wrote based on Alan Jones song (Stig) demo. I was also inspired on my friend Marlon who is currently sick on the hospital struggling with a leukemia (he have 29 years old). Pat sent to me the Stig track, and instead of use the track on the song, I just picked up the chords progression and the same style (blues). I made it more slow, changed the chords to minor, and worked out the song/lyrics to reflect my mood at the time. I'm almost sure that this will be a "a point out of the curve", but Pat said it's OK, so It's OK. :-) Lyrics: A Fever dream Walking through a fever dream The clock turns slowly Dark shades moves on the floor I am alone as I never was Raindrops on the window Reflections of my life When you knock on the door I try to escape from my worried mind I try to stay with you one more time And just forget the reality Fading out like an autumn tree Getting used to a new place to be

500 MILES Weeks ago while watching the movie “Inside Llewyn Davis”, about a folk singer in the 60’s, I found so many nice folk songs, one of them was this old song interpreted by Justin Timberlake and Carey Mulligan. Also knowing the Peter Paul and Mary version, and Joan Baez live version singing with the audience, I found that this could be a good song to try a collaboration with many people singing together. So I asked some of my friends that are involved with folk music and thought could suit in the vocals parts of the harmonies. In addition, it was a chance to my wife play a simple classic viola part I wrote to her (she is a beginner), I filled the strings parts with the keyboard. Here is the crew: Jony Tomelin - vocals, acoustic guitar, keyboard and production. Valerie Hall Eberlee - vocals and video. http://www.fandalism.com/valerieh - Otawa, Canada. BIRDS (Neil Young) - My version with acoustic guitar/vocals. Lyrics: Lover there will be another one Who'll hover over you beneath the sun Tomorrow see the things that never come Today When you see me Fly away without you Shadow on the things you know Feathers fall around you And show you the way to go It's over, it's over. Nestled in your wings my little one This special morning brings another sun Tomorrow see the things that never come Today When you see me Fly away without you Shadow on the things you know Feathers fall around you And show you the way to go It's over, it's over.

LIBERDADE (freedom) (Original) Another song recording during the vacations in december, in portuguese. It talks about some thoughts about freedom and what it means these days... Freedom Freedom no one knows the definition, definition Freedom you think it is renewal, rise Freedom is not having to decide Freedom is not having to give up You know this don’t exists for us Freedom is the opposite of information, formation Freedom I know is only illusion, only vision Freedom is part of the solution Freedom without opinion You know this don’t exists for us We are tied together without freedom, freedom Behind the “happiness walls” there is no freedom, freedom But who knows can control your freedom, freedom Who knows your weakness “thirst” for freedom, freedom Freedom no one knows the definition, definition Freedom you think it is renewal, rise Freedom is not having anywhere to go Freedom is to decide to stop listening You know this don’t exists for us Freedom is opposed to continuation, construction Freedom is to see the world without correlation, relationship Freedom is to be against Freedom is living contradiction You know this don’t exists for us ... don’t.

SUBINDO A SERRA (ORIGINAL) - This is the first track of my EP, recorded during the vacations. The translated lyrics is above the portuguese lyrics. Hope you like it! I will cross our bridges on foot In this unambitious march I will climbing up the hills of death Without thinking about the decision I will targeting the top of the hill Even without seeing the end In these curves I count on luck And a bit of intuition Grow, live, can win I have not learned with you Rise, fall, and repeat It is no longer my ways ... but ... Can you imagine yes Can you imagine the end. You ever stayed in the past Nothing but an end point Arriving at the crossroads I will leave you a sign I will be above the clouds Your desire does not make me shadow Keep your stack of nothing Take your own direction Walking, dreaming, and drawing Every second of the day And define what it feels And not only just following Can you imagine yes Can you imagine the end

JOHNNY'S GARDEN - OLD TREE (PART 2) First original song of my project with Willard Ribeiro. It will be on our first EP. We are right now recording some new tracks, this song was recorded in november 2014. It's a second part of a song I first recorded in collaboration with Herve Southman (that part 1 will be on the EP in a different version) :-) Well, hope you like it. Willard Ribeiro: 6 strings guitar, vocals. Jony tomelin: Lyrics, Craviola 12 strings, vocals, bass, acoustic solo guitar and production. Lyrics: When I was a child I used to climb a mountain In my mind, there was an easy path To run away…. Then comes a time When the leafs blow away There was dust in the eyes No one wanted to know the lines In my sky… I never thought that dust in my eyes Could make me blind Why we never realize That we’ve lost the childhood’s dreams Like a fruit falling from the tree And beside the river I bury my seeds While the rain keep falling on me And the wind of spring carry me I lost my dreams to be someone I never should be Watch the old tree all alone You will see the child has gone There are greed and anger but Still there is hope So just look around you Think about the things we do Keep on searching for the child Inside yourself

Far worse than death (original) A composition developed and recorded last weekend. My original idea was to make a guide track to record more instruments, but I liked the live sound, so I just recorded it in one take. Audio was recorded in my DAW and later mixed with the video, made with a webcam while recording the audio. Lyrics: It took me a lot to understand Why did you move so slowly But thinks and acts in the shadows And it makes me think even more We are all connected In an endless game of power The lie is necessary you say Why don't you tell me? You shoot my head But just killed my ambitions I am hanged in your words And the ground is getting away And that is far worse than death You knew that from the start And let me follow the wrong path You have prepared to you You'll never be a good father And I hope it never happens While I am here Stripped of innocence I realize what I am I do not know how to fix this Maybe we should start again And avoid eating that apple Although I know… this is the last time You shoot my head But just killed my emotions I am hanged in your world And the ground is getting away And that is far worse than death You knew that from the start And let me follow the wrong path You have prepared to you

Herve sent me this beautiful piano track several months ago! Definitely is unusual to me sing on this style but I accept the challenge hehe... so here is the result! I enjoyed a lot to write something and sing over this magnific piece. PS.: Herve was the first musician I asked for a collaboration some years ago, and our friendship is very important, very proud of our collaborations! So hope you enjoy as much as we do recording it! :-) Check out his profile: http://www.fandalism.com/southman Time to dream Over distant green fields I will be alone I live the memories when the afternoon falls on the coast We don’t have nothing without the wish to be right at the end It can not be anything without a reason that goes beyond reason The walk, without hesitation, without resistance to stay No way, no friends, no time to dream There are no signs that make me wait for you But there are simple reasons to live this way Each insistence your having to have more than to be someone It makes no sense numb with something so empty Without distinction of what is right, or just illusion traits I want to know, how to be, someone with nothing to lose See distant vapor trails That's when the light spreads without direction And there's nothing between heaven and my senses I look at the road and the dust that turned the ground I will stay, I will launch the memories over the sea ...

Paintbox (Pink Floyd version). The B-side of the single Apples and Oranges (1967), and late part of the Relics album (1971). Written by Wright. I added in the final part a piece of a song from The Pipers at The gates of Dawn, Matilda Mother, just as a reference. ;-) Just having fun in the pauses of recordings of some original songs with Willard! :-) Lyrics: Last night I had too much to drink Sitting in a club with so many fools Playing to rules Trying to impress but feeling rather empty I had another drink Drink - a - drink - a - drink - a - drink What a way to spend that evening They all turn up with their friends Playing the game But in the scene I should have been Far away Away - away - away - away - away Getting up, I feel as if I'm remembering this scene before I open the door to an empty room Then I forget The telephone rings and someone speaks She would very much like to go out to a show So what can I do - I can't think what to say She sees through anyway Away - away - away - away - away Out of the front door I go Traffic's moving rather slow Arriving late, there she waits Looking very angry, as cross as she can be Be - a - be - a - be - a - be - a - be Getting up, I feel as if I'm remembering this scene before I open the door to an empty room Then I forget

Nutshell - Alice in Chains (cover/version). This track reminds me when I was kid in the 90's, listening grunge and metal bands in my cousin's tape stereo system. The depression mood of Layne's lyrics (think this one talks about his heroin addiction) and music is a good resume of that musical generation. I saw once he saying in an interview he was immortal... but like many others, goes inside the spiral of drugs abuse and died in 2002 (his last pictures shows him very very skinny). The band still lives, but the depressive essence is gone. Well, this is my attempt to catch the mood, but I think it needs years of heroin to sing so sadly as he did (but I'm not interested in be a junkie) :-) Lyrics: We chase misprinted lies We face the path of time And yet I fight And yet I fight This battle all alone No one to cry to No place to call home My gift of self is raped My privacy is raked And yet I find And yet I find Repeating in my head If I can't be my own I'd feel better dead

LIES (original) Life was a clear blue sky Painted in the dark eyes Hope in the lake of reasons Is just a drop now Why I’m stuck here? Watching you walk alone A face cold like a stone Saying nothing more than words With no meanings While I’m still here… Fine, tell me lies I’m not expecting nothing good from you Try to understand the meanings I’m not waiting for your reasons No, neither you Life was a clear blue sky Painted in the dark eyes Hope in the lake of reasons Is just a drop now Why I’m stuck here? DESERTO DE IDEIAS [IDEAS DESERT] (ORIGINAL) A composition in portuguese (unusual!). The lyrics addresses some current issues, some criticism of some religions and beliefs, and things that people think are important. Ideas they deem important, but are just sand and desert ... And while that many suffer when they could have a decent life ... Lyrics translation: Over a dim ideas desert We do not feel the fear of getting The head of the storm coming on the horizon Here comes the sun illuminate me on the slope of an oasis Crawling over thin layer of fleeting tension Under a cloud-covered sky, white and gray And a point of green which expands when walking The distant moon guides the pilgrims to dream Important ideas Desert Where there is no more to think about The sand covers my body and disguise what I'm Can not hide my renegade shadow I came that desert ideas Where time does not evolve me A set of spheres guard the peacemaker It is now waiting for the rain of illusion Bring some water I found Under the mirage that insist on proclaiming Selling the luck to whoever wants to buy And walking alone through the seas of sand and salt Ideas desert relevant for me The sun turns on me and so it should be Inverted pyramid and covered with a black cloak Let reference for what will awaken and come And in the shadow of the pyramid a house without windows Made of pure gold that glitters to your eyes And the sight of misery without any bread Does not seem so new under the sun, renewal

My version of the track "This flight tonight" by Joni Mitchell from her album "Blue", and later covered by the band Nazareth. Arrangement and all instruments by Jony Tomelin. Lyrics: Look out the left, the captain said The lights down there that's where we'll land I saw a falling star burn up Above the Las Vegas sands It wasn't the one that you gave to me That night down south between the trailers Not the early one That you can wish upon Not the northern one That guides in the sailors Oh starlight, star bright You've got the lovin' that I like all right Turn this crazy bird around I shouldn't have got on this flight tonight You got the touch so gentle and sweet But you've got that look so critical Now I can't talk to you baby I get so weak Sometimes I think love is just mythical Up there's a heaven Down there's a town Blackness everywhere and little lights shine Oh blackness blackness dragging me down Come on light the candle in this poor heart of mine Oh starlight, star bright You've got the lovin' that I like all right Turn this crazy bird around I shouldn't have got on this flight tonight I'm drinking sweet champagne Got the headphones up high Can't numb you out Can't drum you out of my mind They're playing Goodbye baby, Baby Goodbye Ooh ooh love is blind Up go the flaps down go the wheels I hope you got your heat turned on baby I hope they finally fixed your automobile I hope it's better when we meet again baby Starlight, star bright You got the lovin' that I like all right Turn this crazy bird around I shouldn't have got on this flight tonight

OUR OWN WAY (ORIGINAL) If I choose my own way Would you like to stay? I think I never thought It could be a real thing Yes, it's a kind of madness I'm feeling these days Maybe it's just sadness Somebody says And if the wind blow the clouds and rain far away I wish we could stay Watch the fire once again Doesn't matter what you see What you feel about it We will never be right And this is the way I wish to be I'm talking about freewill And the things we don't see Its hard to believe in freedom With tears on my face I'm talking about the things People do and don't know why They just follow the river And never think that they will die The top of the mountain Isn't a good place to stay I'll be on the plain See closer what really matter

Way to blue - Nick Drake (cover in collaboration with Staffan Fenander). Staffan asked me if I could do string arrangements for this fantastic music from Drake. But since I'm a newbie on keyboards, it took me a long time to get something that pleased me (it's still something from a beginner, of course, hehe ...). The idea was to add a background and not directly follow the original arrangement that is much more complex. Staffan, thanks for the opportunity, it was a really interesting and a great result. Staffan has this particular way of play the songs and is quite beautiful acoustic and vocals, and it was nice to be able to contribute to this record.

Not enough (original piece). This is somewhat unusual, but I wrote this song in about 30 minutes. It is a comment about how some people feel after they become bosses, but not truly leaders. Then they become hated by their subordinates, and shall feel impostors. And after that ... well, that lyrics I tried to imagine what would happen in the mind of a person like that. I hope that you can understand, I'm not sure if the terms are correct. I'm also not very good at making videos, but thought it was cool you could see me in my modest recording place. Not Enough Waking up in the morning Out of bed to drive the car It’s not enough Thinking about the problems Things that are unsolved, I Know It’s not enough Walking through the office While people tells me lies My eyes are not enough So I think “why am I still here?” Waiting for the people to help me But they hate me But the water flows every time While I’m on my desk trying to hide So I release the anger and every word It’s not enough, I’m not enough I hate all that people Who lives like a simple man ‘Cause I can’t I feel I’m better than all But you know that I’m weak And what I know is not enough But one day I will leave it all behind All that people will miss me I know And the pain and anger, It’s all I am Everybody knows, It’s not enough I’m not enough

Place to be - Nick Drake cover Our tribute to this great and underated folk musician. Willard Ribeiro: Vocals Jony Tomelin: Acoustic guitar and vocals Another great time recording and drinking beer with my buddy Willard Ribeiro, hehe... Lyrics: When I was younger, younger than before I never saw the truth hanging from the door And now I'm older see it face to face And now I'm older gotta get up clean the place. And I was green, greener than the hill Where the flowers grew and the sun shone still Now I'm darker than the deepest sea Just hand me down, give me a place to be. And I was strong, strong in the sun I thought I'd see when day is done Now I'm weaker than the palest blue Oh, so weak in this need for you.

DAISY JANE - AMERICA (version) All vocals, acoustic 12 strings Craviola and elec bass. Lyrics: Flyin' me back to Memphis Gotta find my Daisy Jane Well, the summer's gone And I hope she's feelin' the same Well, I left her just to roam the city Thinkin' it would ease the pain I'm a crazy man And I'm playin' my crazy game, game Does she really love me I think she does Like the stars above me I know because When the sky is bright Everything's alright Flyin' me back to Memphis Honey, keep the oven warm All the clouds are clearin' And I think we're over the storm Well, I've been pickin' it up around me Daisy, I think I'm sane And I'm awful glad And I guess you're really to blame, blame Do you really love me I hope you do Like the stars above me How I love you When it's cold at night Everything's alright Does she really love me I think she does Like the stars above me I know because When the sky is bright Everything's alright

LONDON – Collaboration with Kai, Louis & Si. Lyrics: I am looking for meanings Going back to the start, drinking in this bar In my thoughts I still see you smiling Asking me to dance, but you aren't there So I decided to walk away Thinking that no-one could call me Should I have stayed? While walkin’ through that hall It seems tha the whole world began to spin inside my head Walking through the streets of London The smell of your hair still fresh in the air Now the rains ´ve become much stronger And so I hide my thoughts within another glass of wine Thinking about you just one more time I was looking for some meaning Drowing in a river, the same colours of your eyes I saw you rise from the water Asking me follow you, to give us another chance. I am lost in my emotions Lost inside a letter that I found some days ago Not recognizing the words I really don't remember the good things in these days Walking through the streets of London The smell of your hair still fresh in the air Now the rains ´ve become much stronger And so I hide my thoughts within another glass of wine Thinking about you just one more time

NEW HORIZON (Original) My last impression of the holiday times. It is the result of a reflection on the country life and city life, and how things would be if everyone chose to live in the countryside. Lyrics: On the horizon, Close to the clouds Over the mountain Should be a good place to live The fresh water flows From here to the river Then it passes through the city Receiving the trash and the tears Here in this place You can heal your disturbed mind But there's a price to pay You will need to leave all behind I can't stay here Over the mountain Far from the city I can't find a way to survive I can't breath this air This is not fair Why should I choose To live in that forest of sand? So imagine what could happen If all the people Climbed this mountain No one could live together Over a mountain of rocks and sands I'm going away We got to get out this place... again. Happy together - The turtles (version) - A great and funny collaboration with Staffan Fenander and Marlon Janke. Marlon Janke: Trumpet "fluegelhorn". Staffan Fenander: Lead vocals. Jony Tomelin: Backing vocals, guitars, arrangement and production. Staffan asked me months ago about recording a version of this 1967 hit by The Turtles. So after other collaborations in progress, we decided to work it out. I started here with the background arrangement: drums, bass and organ sounds. I asked Marlon if he was interested in record a trumpet, so he came to my place to record it. So, I've sent the half made track to Staffan, he recorded the vocals track and returned me the file. After this, I recorded guitars and the backing vocals. In the final part we have three melodies of trumpets, and 5 voices on the chorus, hehe... The backing vocals are so well melted in the original track that I couldn't work it out, so I made my own harmony over the Staffan's lead vocals. I'm very happy it worked! :-) I was curious about how our voices could work in a more full arrangement. Also thanks for Marlon for the excellent and tasteful trumpet sounds, it makes all the difference. So, hope you enjoy!

I will stay here (Original) Another song created on my vacations, good feelings of summertime, calm, great views... hope you like, I’m glad I can to share this feelings in music. Lyrics: Blue sky white clouds Hot breeze in the summertime Bright light on the window I'm not going to the coast I need to tell you there's a place That I like to stay, just me and the guitar Watching the river flowing to the coast Feeling the breeze on my skin It's good to think that tomorrow I'll still be here I don't need to find a new place To start the things the right way Over the mountain, I can see The better place I can live Then in the summer nights I'm alone All the bad people were gone Wish that I could live all my days Just smiling, smiling with you Blue sky white clouds Hot breeze in the summertime Bright light on my window I'm happy I’m not going anywhere Without you

GONE (Original) Time of another try to stay awake Thinking about crossing the river of dirty water So, in the end of the day, the life is the same The same situation I can't complain Tell me another story about your troubles Tell me about your plans for a new day Ask me about the feelings I can't share with you Lost inside the memories of that day... We've shared that shady place We've shared the same mistake We counted all the stars above The sky and clouds are gone Then one day I discovered you were gone To another city with all our memories The life began to fade away with the leafs And in the middle of this autumn I was lost Crossing all the bridges to see you Breaking all the promises to stay with you Then in another time we found each other While our kids were playing in that garden The flowers and the grasses The shady path to home The laughts and feelings Blowing in the air... again --- Sorry for the "english" :-)

The sound of silence - Simon & Garfunkel cover - Johnny's Garden I would like to dedicate this track to my friend Yvalain, who always said my voice was similar to Paul Simon... hehe... Also thanks to Lajos "Louis" Rankl, a great friend I discovered here. He always help me with production tips, so I'm always learning a bit more with him. Willard Ribeiro: Acoustic guitar and vocals. Jony Tomelin: Bass guitar and vocals, production. Lyrics: Hello darkness, my old friend I've come to talk with you again Because a vision softly creeping Left its seeds while I was sleeping And the vision that was planted in my brain Still remains within the sound of silence In restless dreams I walked alone Narrow streets of cobblestone 'Neath the halo of a street lamp I turned my collar to the cold and damp When my eyes were stabbed By the flash of a neon light That split the night And touched the sound of silence And in the naked light I saw Ten thousand people, maybe more People talking without speaking People hearing without listening People writing songs That voices never share And no one dare Disturb the sound of silence "Fools" said I, "you do not know Silence like a cancer grows Hear my words that I might teach you Take my arms that I might reach to you" But my words like silent raindrops fell And echoed in the wells of silence And the people bowed and prayed To the neon God they made And the sign flashed out it's warning And the words that it was forming And the sign said "The words of the prophets Are written on the subway walls And tenement halls" And whispered in the sound of silence.

Coming back to life - Pink Floyd (version). All instruments and production by Michel Gypen: (http://fandalism.com/stratochel) Michel uploaded a version of this song with a piano playing the vocals melody. So, I decided to ask him to send me the track to try to sing (it's my favourite post Waters PF album). I sent the vocals file back, he remixed.

Waiting (Original song and lyrics) Great collaboration with the great Kaiboard: www.fandalism.com/kaiboard Kaiboard: Keyboards: organ, synths, piano, background strings, bass, sound effects and mixing. Jony: Acoustic guitar, vocals, midi program (strings, drums). Now I'm waiting for the hot breeze While you're sitting down the stairs The clock starts, a falling star Reflecting on your bright eyes I think I'm missing something Waiting for the right words again I though I saw your shadow on the street Trying to telling me I'm not here Jumping around the strange city Through the white rocks and stairs Trying to find the ocean smell And your hair shaking in the air I think I'm missing something Trying to find the right way I think I'll follow the seabirds And catch the wind to the shore Nobody cares about you Just about what you have A shelter in a green field No artificial lights on the stairs No, no, no... Now I'm waiting for the hot breeze While you're sitting down the stairs The clock starts, a falling star Reflecting on your strange smile

Springtime (Original) Sometimes I think about when the springs were so good Going home after school with nothing in mind We had a tree full of flowers in front of house And we had time to see figures moving in the clouds Now the sky turned gray, confusion in the mind Waking up early again, I can not sleep at night, every day the same Now I'm looking at you with eyes still closed The world really has changed or is it just my head? Days of spring in my mind again Picture credits: http://www.globaltimes.cn/

Yvalain on bass, harmonies and arrangements Jony Tomelin on all guitars and vocal A GIRL I want a girl, I want a girl who makes my life shine A girl that I call mine With such a pride A girl that makes my life all new A girl who loves me too If it’s a dream It’s the sweetest dream I ever had I want a girl, I want a girl that can make my day A girl who loves to play A gentle sway A girl that smiles with eyes of glee A girl who stands by me If it’s a dream It’s the sweetest dreamvI ever had Why should I live my life all alone My heart overflows with love and moan And like a bird about to fly Hope carries me into the sky… If it’s a dream It’s the sweetest dream I ever had (c) Yvalain 2013
