On Fandalism I would be delighted to find "Kindred Spirits". Those with like minded musical Interests.
Who was your biggest musical influence growing up?
The Now Lost City Ramblers, Doc Watson and Norman Blake
Are you in a band? Have you been in bands?
I began my performing musical career with Wretched Refuse String Band in Brooklyn New York - who were rumors in their own time :)
My own band, currently, is the Joint Chiefs of Retrograss (with Howie Tarnower, Lauck Benson, Michael Bean, Mike Kenney and Lincoln Meyers). I have a duet with Marc Horowitz (The Rejewvinators), and a talented Boston based bluegrass band - (Flatt Rabbitt) . Occasionally, i play with the eclectic western swing band "Kitchen Sink" and the "Wabash Cannibals " with Geoff Bartley. From time to time I join the Tarbox Ramblers at Johnny D's in Somerville . I also lead the oldtime music jam session at the Skellig Pub, 240 Moody Street in Waltham Massachusetts (every Sunday 6-9pm) .
If you could jam with anyone, who would it be?
I would love to jam with Norman Blake. I am inspired by his songwriting ability and his intrumental prowess on guitar, mando and fiddle .
