Yvalain - Songwriter, Guitar, Electronic Production - "The Quest For The Holy Grail" an original song by Yvalain This is my last post before Christmas and I wish everybody a Merry Christmas, especially to you if you're alone on that day. "The Quest For The Holy Grail" is one of my Top 5 songs of mine ever. It contains a concentration of everything I wanted to give to the world: the high consciousness of how men's life is a tragedy. Looking for the Holy Grail, searching happiness, so many quests in vain but without which we couldn't survive! That fundamental searches are always there, behind even the silly things that we do. Yvalain: composer, guitars, digital instruments, programmed note by note Zwell: vocal Recorded in 2009, remastered in 2012. The pictures of that video are: - "the light of life" by Daihei Dhibata, video source found on https:/vimeo.com/9325052 under CC licence - "skin like sun" by Jennifer Lyon Bell, video source found on https:/vimeo.com/21828533 under CC licence Lyrics (c) Yvalain The quest for the Holy Grail A way to break out of jail Here we are for ever insane Every day is fading the lane Of the quest for the Holy Grail See the sunny field You won't believe it's for real A weary smile open up to the sky Every ray is somehow too bright On this damn sunny field Today we're ready to drop Will it be a good crop? Today's pain for a much better land One single tear, a spring on the sand Quite ready to drop Is there somebody here for me? I need you, I need you so bad Is there anybody for me? Cos' I long for a new day A day without whispers and cries and sweat and tears How many years from now To find us above the law Let's escape the fate of the beast Guess in the shade they made you a feast In many years from now The quest for the Holy Grail A way to break out of jail Here we are for ever insane Every day is fading the lane Of the quest for the Holy Grail

This song was published 2 years ago and met a great success on Youtube and Fandalism. It's time to re-post it. It introduces a unique collaboration between Robin Rendell, Staffan Fenander and myself. The lyrics in French say that every child in the world deserves a day of feast such like Christmas

John Lennon''s HOW?, a cover by Dustin Thomas and Yvalain This song was published on the Imagine LP in 1971, it's one of these introspections that Lennon was used of. Yvalain: I planned to make a tribute to John on December 8th. Almost by chance Dustin joined me and provided a perfect vocal line for the song. My first ever collaboration with an exceptional human being and great artist. We are happy to share it with you. Dustin video by himself, Yvalain video by Timeo, my grand-son

Latin Text by Lucretius Music by Yvalain All voices and sung melodies by Cire de Sacub Instruments (computer assisted music) by Yvalain Video made with extracts of "Nosferatu" by Murnau Meaning of the lyrics: "It makes sense that the youth refuse old age because that ones are made of them. No one falls in the black dark Tartar (prison within the mythological underworld) because they are the material for future. Those who come, follow you, they will not die less than those before you. Thus, constantly, a being is born from the other because no one owns his life, and all just use it." Yvalain’s note: I made the music over many years. Using computer technologies I could have a better result than on guitars only, although it was a very long process: I ha to write every single note of every instrument that can be heard here. An there are thousands and thousands of notes. Cire brought his talent and emotion to that music. The video might seem a bit sinister but we thought it worked well with the music, showing intense emotions, fear, anguish an questioning. Thank you for your support This song is from our album « De Rerum Natura »that can be listened an dowloaded for free here: https://www.jamendo.com/en/list/a133536/de-rerum-natura

"The Dangling Conversation" a Paul Simon song by Staffan Fenander An Yvalain Productions re-issue Staffan Fenander: guitar, vocal, harmonies, choir Yvalain: synthesizer, audio mix, video production Yvalain notes: "I was happy to hire myself to Staffan to complete this beautiful song. He asked me to add some strings, not necessarily as in the original version. As the song was already recorded I had to work on my computer with blind eyes, no synchro bit, no tempo indication! So I made the synth waves using my pure instinct and my ears. Staffan was happy with the result. I could not ask for more than that. I haven't published that collaboration on my Fandalism wall, until now." (Oct 2014) Staffan's original notes: "and now its Stuffy and Yves..Yvalain is one of my first friends on Fandalism and I love his work and his philosophical approach to life... we collaborated last year on a Christmas song and this time i asked to put strings on the second half of this song (it comes by 1'45) and to keep it simple and restrained... he responded with this wonderful sympathetic arrangement..thanks Yves! " (Jan 2014) Lyrics (Paul Simon) It's a still life water color, Of a now late afternoon, As the sun shines through the curtained lace And shadows wash the room. And we sit and drink our coffee Couched in our indifference, Like shells upon the shore You can hear the ocean roar In the dangling conversation And the superficial sighs, The borders of our lives. And you read your Emily Dickinson, And I my Robert Frost, And we note our place with bookmarkers That measure what we've lost. Like a poem poorly written We are verses out of rhythm, Couplets out of rhyme, In syncopated time Lost in the dangling conversation And the superficial sighs, Are the borders of our lives. Yes, we speak of things that matter, With words that must be said, "Can analysis be worthwhile?" "Is the theater really dead?" And how the room is softly faded And I only kiss your shadow, I cannot feel your hand, You're a stranger now unto me Lost in the dangling conversation. And the superficial sighs, In the borders of our lives.

BLAMELESS, by Yvalain A text by Dan'l B. Young Music composed and played by Yvalain, with spoken words Yvalain notes: that was my contribution to the rich song catalog written by Dan'l. I was glad to find a music which would support his text (Oct 2014). The song was published on Danl's page in Oct 2013). My first publication on my own page. Lyrics: I'm blameless, and I do believe in you. Every-thing about you feels true. I will give to you my all. Hand in hand. For-ever and always we'll be. Aw Baby we are ment to be. Won't have any doubts at all. You know there aint a love that has ever been, quite as sure about the love we're believin' in. It won't be easy , I'm at your side. But if you mean to go on denied, I'm Blameless. Oh Honey I won't ever share. Every time I see you I'm aware. I have found the Magic Key. Re-arangin' , swore Ill never tell you lies. Awh but you can try me on for size. I'll do anything you say. Be the love in my life, with this faith I've found . I shouldn't insist , but I love when you're around. We can talk away the blues with our love so true . And I've got real plans for you. Won't ever let anyone touch my soul except thee. I hurt to much to call this love my own. I've made myself a vow and it's worth , honoring. But it's your world now, can't be used. I 've never felt this Love I Choose. I'm Blameless. You know it wouldn't be easy for a man who's gone. A life time of lovin' and bein' so alone. I've never said anything as true as this. I've never had a girl , I'd miss. It's all in your hands. I'm blameless. But I don't have a heartache now. I don't need to take a bow. I just wanna let you know, I'm Blameless. Blameless as a love can be. You can brake a jealous rule. I just wan-nid love to grow. I'm Blameless . I'm willing to please, I'm Blameless

GIRLS GALORE by Peter Evans with Yvalain & Franck Szypura an Yvalain Productions re-issue (c) 2014 Yvalain notes: That was a real collaborative work based on this very inspiring song that Peter wrote and sung. The song was reinforced with drums, bass, electric guitars by me and Franck added some very nice 60s guitar solo. The visual was really easy to find, due to the obvious subject, very well documented. Original Peter's notes : This song was born in my head after a conversation with some workmates about girlie magazines or more to the point, how we discovered them and the similar reactions we felt. I wrote the song, roughly recorded it and sent it to Yvalain as I felt there was a video in it. Thankfully Yvalain agreed and made an incredible video. Many thanks to Yvalain and to Franck Szypura for their musical additions (initial post in Dec 2012). Lyrics by Peter Evans: Well I guess I mustve been 12 years old And on my way from school Popped into the paper shop Id heard of something cool As my gaze drifted to the top shelf My jaw dropped to the floor I saw lots and lots of magazines... With girls galore! Wow They wore...scanty panties.....and little else Just scanty panties and stockinged legs Back home I tried my homework... Bronze Age history Geometry & Algebra... but a new found mystery Of visions of those naughty girls.. Oh I couldnt concentrate Lying seductively on supercars... Designed to fascinate.....me! cos they wore...scanty panties.....and little else Just scanty panties and stockinged legs I went into my parents room... Just to clear my head I sat down in my fathers chair... My eyes strayed to the bed Id never seen nothing like them... No never in my life Beneath were lots of magazines... And now Id seen them twice! Oh Dad! And they wore...scanty panties.....and little else Just scanty panties and stockinged legs There was; Club International And the Parade Girl Illustrated... Even one called Knave Ooh at the Penthouse... And wow! at Showgirl Playboy and Escort... And even Mens World Oh boy! Yes, they wore...scanty panties.....and little else Just scanty panties and stockinged legs. Mmm Oh la la

HIS HAIR BRAID by Cire de Sacub An Yvalain Productions re-issue (c) 2014 Cire de Sacub: composer of all sung parts, all vocals Yvalain: composer of the music, all instruments A mystical journey introducing a text by Sant Surdas, a, Indian sage of the 15th century. This master of music and meditation wrote a lot about Krishna and he belonged to a religious current that aimed to popularize and disseminate the complex and multiple mysteries of Hinduism. Yvalain's notes: Cire's talent is amazing. I sometimes call him the "man with thousand voices". What amazes me the most is that he always find room for his original melodies in an already complete and melodious music. This is a new song that was only published on Cire's solo album and never on my pages, until now. I made 2 video versions for this song. The first one was illustrated with some indian footage. I did not publish that one. The second version, this one, focus on a tribe lifestyle in Africa. Although the African culture is very far away of everything that was my life so far I'm very attracted by the people who live there. I believe we all have mysterious affinities with every human being of the world.

STEPHANIE by Peter Evans An Yvalain Productions re-issue (c) 2014 Composition, guitar and vocal by Peter Bass, guitar and harmonies by Yvalain Audio & video productions by Yvalain Yvalain's notes: I like Peter's songs because he always addresses social issues with delicacy and cleverness. I was happy to enrich the original recording with some bass, guitar and vocals. I had fun with the video too as I simulated playing my bass with winter gloves. Peter's original introduction: This is one of the first songs I wrote and dates back to 1973/74. I was contract working at Llanwern Steelworks (South Wales) in 1973 and the song came about after seeing a transsexual for the first time in a bar in in a rough part of Newport near the docks. I felt very uncomfortable, not with him but with others sat in that bar openly ridiculing him. To me he had the bottle to dress how he felt comfortable. A couple of months later I read of a seaman who had lost his job because he was to have a sex change. These people, genetically male or female, are not perverted but have a medical condition of being trapped in the wrong body. This song was about them. A very taboo subject in those days but thankfully society is far more tolerant today (Dec. 2013) Lyrics The alarm goes off at seven oclock; Get up, get ready for work With a shower and shave and off to go, His job as an office clerk In the City centre and working... In property sales Dreaming of later, Painting his face and nails Tonight Stephen meets Stephanie She's the woman that he wants to be Tonight Stephen becomes Stephanie And the woman that he dreams to be Lunchtime comes; its off to the shops, His favourite passion Browsing through the ladies clothes For all the latest fashions Takes his shopping back to his car, And feeling great emotion Soon he'll meet his perfect girl And nobody has a notion Tonight Stephen meets Stephanie She's the woman that he wants to be Tonight Stephen becomes Stephanie And the woman that he dreams to be In the bedroom at six o'clock, Opens the wardrobe and chooses a frock Made by his favourite designer. By the mirror, puts on some eye liner Getting the feeling, that adrenalin rush; Eye shadow, mascara, hint of blush. Slips on lingerie and a panty-hose Then dresses up in his sexy clothes Tonight Stephen meets Stephanie She's the woman that he wants to be Tonight Stephen becomes Stephanie And the woman that he dreams to be

GIRL by Don Borgal An Yvalain Productions (c) 2014 This song was recorded in 1981 just after "Destruction", already published on Don's and my walls. The band introduced David Moulton as composer, vocals and guitar, Lawrence Theriault on drums and Don Borgal on bass. Yvalain's notes: Don provided me with a nice song named "Girl" recorded by his band on tape. I used various effects to improve the sound brilliance and dynamics. I searched some visual material on vimeo.com to illustrate the song. I fell for a sarcastic series about a man's infortune every time he meets a girl. I thought it would add some humor to such a romantic text. (Oct. 2014).

She completed the audio then. For the re-issue I have slightly enhanced the audio using one of the numerous Ozone 5 mastering presets. Maya's art always amazes me and I was really proud to co-create severals songs with her, all available on line. WHAT IF by Darcy Jeavons An Yvalain Productions re-issue (c) 2014 Composition, vocals by Darcy Audio production by Steve Lucier Video production by Yvalain, all video sources borrowed from vimeo.com Yvalain's notes: I was happy to be involved in this project, Darcy's optimistic vocal, Steve great audio production. So on her request I prepared that video for the song. Then we worked together on several other songs, including an original that I wrote a long time ago. Darcy's original introduction: What if.....things were not the way they were....do we take too much for granted?...maybe....I hope this can bring a smile (2013) Lyrics: What if jasmine didn’t drift on the springtime air… What if walking in the rain never washed away a care… What if smiles were never shared, what if hands could never touch – What if nothing really mattered very much… What if blue just disappeared and the clouds all flew away Would things be seen more clearly with nothing in the bright sun’s way.… What if falling snow melted before it blanketed the winter ground – What if somebody was lost and never found…. What if children couldn’t wish What if lovers never knew How a heart grows wings When a dream comes true What if everything that is Was not the way it was What if people only lived….. just because…. What if joy ran out of tears, what if lips could never touch What if nothing really mattered very much … What if children couldn’t wish What if lovers never knew How a heart grows wings When a dream comes true What if everything that is Was not the way it was What if people only lived…. just because…. SUFFERING IN SILENCE by Peter Evans An Yvalain Productions re-issue (c) 2014 Composition, vocal, acoustic guitar by Peter Acoustic and electric guitars, bass, mix and video production by Yvalain Yvalain's notes: I'm always happy to help my friend Peter. He's very open to any suggestion. This time he sent me a first video asking for some more orchestration. I cut the song differently and kept an instrumental part for a quiet solo with my Stratocaster. I doubled his rhythm and added a bass and some more acoustic arpeggios. It was a great musical challenge for a great message Peter's original introduction: This song is a dedication for my father. He has suffered from Alzheimer's Disease for the last few years and is now residing in a residential home dedicated to looking after sufferers of this cruel debilating disease. There is now a marked depreciation in his health, suffering two falls resulting in two broken hips this year, his hearing and speech now badly impaired. He used to be such an intelligent, skilled and active man and it is so sad to see him suffer in his later years. I am indebted to my good friend Yvalain who accompanies me on this dedication. Many thanks, my good friend (09/2013) Lyrics: We called and saw you sitting there sitting lonely in your comfy chair, Even though you are surrounded By similar people everywhere. I wonder where your thoughts are. Wonder what theyre about? Recollections of your past? Every day. Day in, day out Its so sad to see you in this desperate way If you could tell me what would you say? Suffering in silence It troubles me to see you suffer this way. And my thoughts go back to yesterday Machining parts at home on your lathe, That Farfisa organ and hearing you play. Algebra and Maths, a cakewalk for you, Solving a problem for an hour or two A master craftsman in your working life, Thoughts of my mother, your loving wife An active man, in your prime Now just sleeping to pass your time Suffering in silence. Looking back over the years I cant deny, That we never always saw eye to eye. But, youre my father and Im your son. This isnt a life you have, all said and done The past is past and life goes by, Its playing a cruel trick and I wonder why? Its pitiful to see you in such poor health. You are just a shadow of your former self Your bones so brittle, body so weak Hard to hear us, hard for you to speak Suffering in silence. A gifted man brought to his knees. Dementia is such a cruel disease Suffering in silence.

LOVE YOU (Strange) by Jason Mark Yates An Yvalain Productions re-issue (c) 2014 All vocal and instruments by Jason Final audio mastering and video production by Yvalain with video sources borrowed on vimeo.com Yvalain's notes: I think I started to post some videos with my songs (and I had some fun with them) and Jason contacted me for a video and some work on the sound. I followed the lyrics, thanks to some good explanations provided by Jason, as the lyrics are sometimes rather poetic and difficult for a foreigner like me. Lol. Anyway, this song was very beautiful and I was really happy to be involved in its birth on Fandalism. And today I think Jason is skilled enough to teach me how to make nice videos. Lol Jason's original introduction: This is about neglect of old folks...something very important to me...millions of pounds are spent on destructive quests...when many old ones can't even afford fuel and food ......and many an old persons life story...never gets told. MEMORIES by Jony Tomelin Another Yvalain Productions re-issue A song composed by Yvalain & Jony Tomelin Lyrics, additional melodies, vocal by Jony Instruments by Jony and Cyril Elieric Video produced by Yvalain in Sept 2014 Yvalain's notes: when Jony came back with this new version of an old song of mine I was really amazed and touched. He, with the help of Cyril, produced this melancholic jewell, with unexpected mature lyrics, unexpected from such a young genius. Still today this is my favorite re-creation among my works (Sept 2014) Jony's original introduction: Yvalain sent me a song to produce lyrics and sing. I asked him if I could produce a different version based on the chords and melody. I sent him a demo version of the idea with lyrics and guitar, and we discovered it had the same mood of his original old demo recording. We were surprised, since I didn't listened his old version before! So I asked Cyril to help me to develop the song with background instruments and guitar chorus. (Sept 2013) Lyrics (c) Jony The sirens and the smoky fields are gone Soon, I'll be at home And as I walk beside my shadow My memories still in that cloudy days Remember when we were watching the stars We promised it will never ends So, I took my way To a strange land, full of despair Never be back home Never be with you again And I watch you from a distance Feeling the breath of death The carrier takes us to the battle lines I saw myself amusing with death Taking courage to believe That I'm not here anymore Never be back home Never be with you again And I watch you from a distance Feeling the breath of death In a green field, with crosses all around A woman, with flowers in hands Dying slowly by their disease Of absence of happiness The money can't bring us back The life can't be remade Later I understood That my way is forever the same Never be back home Never be with you again And I watch you from a distance Feeling the breath of death

Freddy van de Putte’s NOW I REALIZE A song about missed opportunities Freddy: Composition, instruments Vocal: Sharon Coetzee New audio restoration in Sept 2014: Yvalain Video production by Yvalain with films borrowed on vimeo.com Yvalain notes: I'm proud to share that little marvel composed by Freddy. Please listen until the end to enjoy the limitless voice of Sharon. Freddy’s original notes: This was recorded in 1984, so quality not that great, but a fantastic effort by Yvalain in the re-mastering of this song, it sounded terrible before he did his magic. A bit of a sad song, but i tried to give it a bit of humour near the end. I am so lucky I married the right woman, otherwise I could easily have ended up on a park bench like some of those poor unlucky people. Peter Evans’ Growing Old Peacefully Words and music: Peter Evans Video: Peter Evans (new cut in Sept 2014) Peter Evans: vocal & acoustic guitar Yvalain: vocal choirs, music arrangement, audio production Yvalain’s note: I was very happy to help my good old friend to make this song. He gave me his first attempt. The problem is that I can’t add drums or any arrangements on an existing recording because I need to control the tempo. So I proposed him to re-do the song, using my software tools. He accepted that solution and provided a new vocal and guitar that fitted with my arrangement. Then I added my vocal harmonies. I really like the slow 6/8 feel of that hymn and the great spirit of the lyrics, as always with Peter who as such a big heart. Peter’s note: A dedication to the over 60's. Reposted here with a new video to include our friends we omitted last time. Initial edition: January 2014 An Yvalain Productions re-issue.

Yvalain's - SHE'S BEEN LOVED introducing Sean T. Wright on vocals It's a bittersweet romantic song that many boys who try to understand the beautiful sex may have sung in their heart All credits are within the video. Lyrics (slightly rearranged by Sean) She's feeling quiet, relaxed and innocent Is this something in the air? She's got peace in her heart deep inside She's got flowers in her hair Why do you want her now, can't you see she's free? She's been loved today It doesn't matter what you say It doesn't matter, oh no, cos’ she's been loved She's the master of the universe Can't you see it in her eyes? She's got not pity for you my friend She can get plenty of your kind Why do you want her now, can't you see she's free She's been loved today… She's not as strong as you may think brother She's got the power that you give her She was told she was a pretty little girl For sure, that won't last forever She's been loved today… (c) Yvalain Sean's music: https://soundcloud.com/sean-t-wright Thank you all for your support

BACK AGAIN (remix), an original composition by Yvalain with Jacques Delorenzi: vocals, creator of all harmonies Yvalain: bass, guitars, special effects I had to repost that one with a correct mix, as Jacques was unhappy with the initial mix because the vocals were out of rhythm (my mistake - I was so excited by this song that I've posted {18 months ago} without waiting for his agreement). So now it is repaired, and Jacques was right: the vocals are now well in the rhythm and really powerful. This is a protest song about the madness of a world where everyone is brought to stand against his brother. Lyrics: Back Again, I wont look back Behind my shoulders big black clouds Back Again, I wont back down Ill find a way out deep blue skies Back Again, Where have you been For me no stone to rest my head All your little lies, you know Im fed up with no truth Listen As stranger as he can be A disarmed man walks alone A loser without any key Watch him back home There's no welcome Back Again, What should I know I can't remember the happy days Back Again, A single blow Anything's good to feel OK Back Again, What do you mean By saying: I've never met him What a little lie, you know I'm fed up with no truth Listen Nobody's playing in the street What kind of world has risen while he was away A failing ground under the feet Where are the thoughts, where are the words he used to say? Yvalain's HEALING BROKEN WINGS a music inspired and dedicated to these adults who experienced any sort of abuse in their childhood. Their troubles are underestimated most of the time as nobody knows what happened in the past, even sometimes the one with broken wings when his/her memory is too painful to remember anything. It's a song of hope however. The light can be found, despite the terrible past. Those who reach the light are wonderful people that our world needs. Yvalain play guitars, whistles and programmes the orchestral instruments. The first part explains musically the torments experienced and the questioning. The second part describes the deliverance that can finally happen, on a waltz rhythm including a French waltz with joy and melancholy mixed. Thank you for your support

Yvalain's YOU'RE ALWAYS THERE introducing Jacques Delorenzi on vocals and Yvalain on instruments It's a song about doubts and feeling the universe vacuity. Lyrics: 1. What are the things, these possessions? I wonder who’s possessed by whom? Naked I was born, naked I’ll die All the rest is illusion You, You’re always there You never let me down even if I, I’m not there 2. What are my dreams when I wake up? All my thoughts will fade away My friends have to go, I’m left alone I have to live that everyday You, You’re always there You never let me down even if I, I’m not there 3. What is my life, what did I do if I built my house on the sand? In a hundred years what will remain when everything will have to end ? You, You’re always there You never let me down even if I, I’m not there (c) Yvalain

A love song dedicated to these young men who were in the trenches of the 14-18 war, fighting for their country and dreaming of their wives or girlfriends who stayed home. The pictures are a bit kitsch and naive but they were the true support of their imagination in these dark times. All pictures are from Google. Jacques Delorenzi: vocals Yvalain: guitar and electronic production Lyrics (c) Yvalain 1. You hold me by the hand, I come back to you You say that I’m your man, and it seems the whole world is new There’s a wave in your hair And I wonder what’s this perfume in the air? Oh love 2. When the day turns to night you are full of fears Thus I’m holding you tight; gently, I’m wiping all your tears There’s a smile on your face And I wonder how can you have so much grace? My love When we’re two I can’t help saying “I love you” You’re my light and I need you in my night (I) Can’t live without you 3. When the world is so mad that (it) breaks everything When evil is inside, is love only that painful dream? There’s a cloud in our sky And I wonder what can we do to survive? Oh love When we’re two … ... Thank you for your support...

Yvalain's POOR LITTLE BOY a song about the common violence made to the boys in our so-called civilized societies, as we want them to become "real men". Violence breeds violence. That violence includes newborns genital cutting (fortunately only in Israel and parts of the USA), blows, insults, social and family pressure, mockery daily devaluation. When boys are brought up to respect their integrity and sensitivity, the world will be better. with Jacques Delorenzi on vocals PeerGynt LoboGris on lead guitar Yvalain on bass, guitars and arrangements the video is made with extracts of a 1921 movie titled "My Boy" showing the young Jackie Coogan looking desperately for a welcome and a commercial for the "Save the Children" agency. Lyrics (c) Yvalain 1. A long ago, when he was young he wandered Fully free of anger The sky above, his feet well on the ground 2. It was the time of innocence, and playing Just the faith to believe In human kind, the blue world will go on Poor little boy will grow up,  will lose his dreams 3. They cover him with rags, they laugh at him now Can't they feel the sorrow? No dignity. The joy to throw him down Poor little boy…

"Beyond The Night" by Yvalain a song of despair and hope with Jacques Delorenzi, vocals and bass Yvalain, guitars and arrangements All pictures by James Miller on vimeo.com Obviously I don't own these pictures which are borrowed here for a musical non commercial project The song was recorded in 2009 on a small portable PC. The general sound and the mix had suffered of this poor configuration. However this recording allows to enjoy Jacques's skills in singing and playing a very nice bass line. I was rather happy with my lead guitar parts, too. Lyrics: Once again I’m feeling down I bury myself in the blue Down in the dumps: my daily round I remember when I met you I thought you came with something new I believed in love that would set me free But something’s broken inside me Beyond the night is there a new light I need to know Or should we state that we just get by With no regret, no goodbye Here again I’m on my own I can’t put up with anymore We, together, I feel alone What the hell are we good for If we can’t adjust our tone What can you do for your love in need Before your lover goes to seed Beyond the night... People and TV pretend we’re happy Silly empty words that drive me crazy Oh why can’t they see The fall of broken hearts and failing loves and lives I know I should let it go Beyond the night... "Enjoy Your Time" by Yvalain, with Jacques Delorenzi on vocals I wrote this song in the early 90s and recorded it in 2009. Several weeks were necessary to find the adequate arrangements. The original lyrics were about the streets children killed by death squads but I smoothened them to better focus on the contrast between sunny seasides, full of happy tourists, and dark back streets full of poverty. In the end it sounds like a fable about our modern life when we try to focus on the bright side of things, whilst avoiding the dirt and desperate fate of most of our brothers on this Earth. Musically that song was made with strange chords such as 9th or diminished with a kind of latino mood. I programmed a basic track, thanks to Band-In-A-Box, with drums, organ and a nice resonator part. I added doubles acoustic guitars, a bass and soon filled the gap between the sung parts with some angry electric guitar. Jacques provided his great talent to sing the song with all his heart. He created vocals harmonies too. Hope you’ll enjoy your time listening and watching this video. Thank you for your kind support

"Partir" a bluesy original by Yvalain A french song I made a long time ago. Recorded live today with some additional production. If you don't understand the French language please don't bother to tell it to me as this is exactly what I experience when I listen to English songs! (and I survived so far) :) Besides I provide here below a translation of these surrealistic lyrics. Thank you very much for your great support PARTIR 1. LEAVING 1. My trip slipped on a tube of toothpaste In the lobby of the train station The train started at full steam It hit my suitcase Today I won't leave Today I won't leave 2. The airstrip is blurred Around a timezone My torn ticket wet my sneakers I came back barefoot Today I won't leave Today I won't leave 3. I searched my tired pockets And I found my distress Delacroix sighs, I knew he was Against me, he hates me I would never leave I would never leave 4. So I smoked these gray ideas And they died, suffocated A cloud bursted my icing sugared ceiling And I'm leaving .... (c) Yvalain

Pat Collard & Yvalain - Mr Jones Mr Jones, an original by Pat Collard & Yvalain Our latest collaboration was published months ago but we've started to work on that "Mr Jones" in September 2013, taking the necessary time until now to end the composition and finish the recordings. Patrick brought a very nice jazzy guitar part and swinging vocals with original harmonies. Yvalain prepared the song structure with piano and drums, then he recorded his bass line and added a sax solo, created with Band-In-A-Box. The video is made with various footage from Vimeo and Google and we don't pretend to be the authors of these images. Some extracts of Pat and Yvalain playing their instruments were inserted too. We hope you'll enjoy that tribute to jazz music from two passionate musicians.

I'LL DO by Yvalain, Glenn & Remco This is the last song of my revisited series. That song was recorded in 2013, thanks to the magic of Internet: I'm in France, Glenn in the US and Remco in the Netherlands. With hindsight the initial sound appeared a bit confused and noisy. So I decided to rework it completely and put a new bass (using now my fantastic new Bass driver). For this brand new video I used various footages showing Remco and Glenn playing, and for the first time, myself live in concert with one of my latest bands. Some extra pictures were taken from "Corruption" by Cheloveche: https://vimeo.com/37950702 Extract from our upcoming album.

Help Me, Now! by Yvalain, Glenn Basham & Remco Heemskerk This is our tribute to rock n' roll and to the Beatles. This new remix introduces a new bass line recorded with my SansAmp bass driver. It also benefits of a better sound balance (why so much treble in the original mix?) We three can rock too and we really hope you'll dance with us and our guests (watch the video). The brand new video was made with several little extracts of films found on vimeo.com that I borrowed here for this song with no commercial objectives. Thank you all for your great support. THAT PAIN IN MY EYES by Yvalain, Glenn & Remco This is a remix of a song made in 2013, the first song that the Fab Three recorded together, thanks to the Internet. As I was preparing the album compiling our works together, I decided to improve the mix and revisit the choices made at that time. The acoustic guitars and bass are new. I applied some changes in the audio effects and the mix was totally refreshed in order to improve the sound intimacy and clarity. I think this is the best I could do on that song which is precious to me, not only for being one of my introspective songs, unreleased for years, but for being the start of the great musical adventure we've started Glenn, Remco and I. The video is all new. A fantastic work made by Lyapis Trubetskoy, named "Lights" that can be seen here: https://vimeo.com/2204669 I used iMovie v10 for the first time. A bit confusing but more souple than version 9. This is another extract of our upcoming album.

Yvalain, Glenn & Remco - Thinking Of The Past (remake) excerpt from our upcoming album The original version was created in March 2013 but I was not very satisfied with the mix. So I've reworked it completely in December 2013, simplified it in order to better enjoy the different parts provided by Glenn & Remco. I also recorded a new bass line, as the original sound was very very bad to my ears. Now I'm really happy with the result which sounds exactly how it should have been at the beginning. I used the existing video but made some changes, so that there is something new to watch. Thank you all for your support. Yvalain, Glenn & Remco

The Quest by Yvalain & Jorge Estrada An original instrumental extracted from the new "Babel Sin Fronteras" album: WINGS, free download and listen here: http://www.jamendo.com/en/list/a129808/wings-alas This song was made in 2 steps. First I provided a temporary instrumental mix to my Mexican friend Jorge Estrada in 2009 so that he could add some instruments. In the meantime I published a vocal version of the song. Later on Jorge sent me a new mix with several new instruments. Unfortunately at that time I was in deep depression and I could not give any follow-up to the work made by my friend. Then I forgot it... Lately, end of 2013, Jorge recalled me that unfinished project. I discovered that my indifference had hurt him and I felt very sorry for that. But we jointly decided to end the project in time for the new Babel In Fronteras album. Jorge sent me his midi tracks and I prepared a new mix. Now the "Wings" album is published here: www.jamendo.com/en/list/a129808/wings-alas and it contains that track. I'm very happy with the result. Jorge brought new ideas which provided more fantasy to my basic composition. In return his approach helped me to think of different options and dare more experimentation. This story shows that our friendship was reinforced when we could discuss about that aborted project. Music is a real healer! Video made with "Wild child' https://vimeo.com/79866135 and Baby Boy https://vimeo.com/35835067. Many thanks to the authors This video can be watched in HD on YouTube.

GOOD PEOPLE (a Christmas song), an original by Yvalain Audio and video production by Yvalain This is a Christmas song for grown-up and good people Original lyrics by Yvalain, with the great support of my soul sister Carol Forsloff 1. There are good people in every land There are good people everywhere Whether they believe in God or not What only matters is what they do 2. Although there are beautiful words In books whether holy or not Oh, They can't be as important as works embodied in the world R. And I wish you a Merry Christmas No matter what it means to you Whether you celebrate Jesus Or just glorify innocence 3. Why do they still need to gather To get that feeling to exist Why can't they have their own ethics Act for the good for its own sake 4. As soon as they gather in a mob, in a tribe or in church They acquire a false strength And they stand against each other R. And I wish you a Merry Christmas No matter what it means to you Whether you celebrate Jesus Or just glorify innocence R. Yes I wish you a Merry Christmas No matter what it means to you And let's be working hard for peace A peace that our world really needs French Translation 1.

Hallelujah by Yvalain A song composed by Leonard Cohen Music production, arrangements and vocals by Yvalain I enjoyed the early songs of Leonard Cohen (Marianne, Bird on a wire, The Partisan...) and then I lost views on his production. When I discovered Jeff Buckley with its delicate voice I enjoyed his song Hallelujah, until I found out that it was a Leonard Cohen composition. My version is between Leonard's deep voice and Jeff's flutter voice. I could not compete with these 2 music monuments. I just tried to express my admiration and love for this song

Yvalain's Wish You Were Here This is my version of this famous Pink Floyd song, published in 1975 on the eponym album. I played guitars, programmed various instruments, added some loops found on the web and made the vocals (2 voice tracks) This is a tribute to my young years with friends when we were trying to do that one

Yvalain - Greensleeves Yvalain: electronic prod, guitar and vocals
Wiki: There is a persistent belief that Greensleeves was composed by Henry VIII for his lover and future queen consort Anne Boleyn. Boleyn allegedly rejected King Henry's attempts to seduce her and this rejection may be referred to in the song when the writer's love "cast me off discourteously". However, the piece is based on an Italian style of composition that did not reach England until after Henry's death, making it more likely to be Elizabethan in origin Lyrics in that version: Alas, my love, you do me wrong,
 To cast me off discourteously
For I have loved you well and long,
Delighting in your company Greensleeves was all my joy
Greensleeves was my delight,
Greensleeves was my heart of gold,
And was but my lady greensleeves I have been ready at your hand,
To grant whatever you would crave,
I have both wagered life and land,
Your love and good will for to have Greensleeves was all my joy Greensleeves was my delight,
Greensleeves was my heart of gold,
And was but my lady greensleeves Well, I will pray to God on high
that thou my constancy mayst see Greensleeves was all my joy
 Greensleeves was my delight,
Greensleeves was my heart of gold,
And was but my lady greensleeves

So Fragile by Yvalain When we pay attention we can only see fragilities all around us. Fragility of nature, animals and human beings. It's heartbreaking to realize that most of the problems in the world comes from pretending having strength we don't have. It's even more heartbreaking to see that men's violence is a desperate effort to deny being that weak, and of course it's terribly efficient. Music written & produced by Yvalain, with the help of Logic Pro. No loops or samples used. I don't own any picture used in that video. The song is followed by a short extract of a tape recorded in my teen years. That melody took 40 years to reach today. But I knew at that time that it expressed something true and that it was important to preserve it from the damages of time. Thank you again for your kind support.

Isn't It A Pity, a George Harrison song played by Yvalain That song was published in 1970 on George's first solo album after the Beatles split. The triple album was titled "All Things Must Pass". It was a huge musical event as most of the song were incredibly good. Furthermore George was not known as being able to make so many songs with the Beatles. I had the sudden desire to make this little tribute to George this morning. A least I could check that my acoustic guitar was still working... I added a few harmonies and a 2nd guitar once the video was recorded live.

THE PRODIGAL SON, an original by Yvalain With Glenn Basham, vocals Yvalain, instruments When I read that story with attention a few years ago I was hit by the depth and the beauty of that unconditional love and I created that song. I'm certain that if we were able to show the same love to each others in our ordinary life the world would be much better. Instead we love the ones that we think deserve it and hate of feel indifference for the others. So bad... I used some pictures found on the web showing that this story has amazed many generations and was painted with a lot of love by great artists.

Hope, Nevertheless, an original by Yvalain This is the original acoustic demo. That recording was made in the 90s on a 4 track tape recorder with the desired simplicity to concentrate on the melody. I published earlier the orchestral version and I know it is interesting, for a musician, to compare the different approaches of the same music Thank you for your great welcome of my works, for nearly one year and a half, here on Fandalism

A LIFE DRIVE, an original by Yvalain This is the original acoustic demo recorded in the 90's on a 4 track analog cassette recorder. Contains a metronome, overdubs of acoustic guitars plus some appearance of an electric guitar. When I saved that recording on computer I slightly improved the sound and the stereo picture. Those who heard the orchestral version, published earlier, will state how the music is close to the original version but in a definitely different shape. Art by Natalya (altered by Yvalain)

A LIFE DRIVE an original by Yvalain For more than 15 years I've been working on a dozen of short classical pieces. I spent incalculable number of hours to write the notes of each instrument which plays in that orchestra. It all started with my acoustic guitars on a 4 track analog recorder. Once the music was written on musical notation I desperately needed a good software to make that music sounds as realistic as possible. I have it now... So I plan to publish my short classical pieces little by little, hoping you'll find some interest in these compositions. Some purists might say that the only real music was the one I played originally on my acoustic guitar. But in fact the real music was the one which was born in my mind and it really sounded much more like this one that we can hear now than my nice but rustic acoustic version (that I'll publish too one of these days). No samples and no loops were used in there. Thank you for your incredible support.

JULY SIXTH, an original by Yvalain guitars, vocals, arrangements by Yvalain recorded today Lyrics: July 6th, in seventy-nine, the day I wanted to die Family and friends were gone, it's summer holidays No job, no money, that's why I had to stay No phone call, no birthday card in the mailbox I thought I was the one that nobody cared for, oh my my... A weak man who thought he's strong when he was beating his son Felt so low in the world but he could vent his rage at home Never satisfied, his joy was to crush me Meanwhile his wife spent her time with her lovers I really was the one that nobody cared for, of my my... July 6th, in seventy-nine, I was only twenty-three But my heart inside and my soul sighed: "I can't go on" "No hope, no future" was written on the walls A field of ruins was my only luggage Yet I stuck it out, soon I met my wife and my life really began

CHILD LIKE A HERO, an original by Yvalain unreleased version with Jacques Delorenzi (FR) on vocals and the complete instrumental part introducing Jaime Heras (SP) on synthesizer solo. Yvalain (FR) composed and arranged and played bass and guitars. This is the third post related to the problem of breaking wings of little children so that they have to carry an unbearable weight all their life instead to recall an happy childhood, which should be the intimate treasure of all of us. Some children who are desperate to be loved become little heroes who deploy outsized resources to get some recognition. They become like those suffering servants mentioned by the psalms, they break all records in a general indifference. As adults, these survivors have treasures of energy that they provide to others to make the world better. This song is dedicated to them. If you have the patience to listen the whole song: the instrumental part tries to describe the state of mind and emotions of these survivors. It ends with a positive note as they still dream like innocent little children.

Yvalain sings "Sunny Afternoon" by the Kinks, composed by Ray Davies, one of my favorites songs ever... Technical info: I recorded the vocal on the right channel and the guitar on the left while doing the video. I then extracted the audio with Quick Time, split the 2 channels to get 2 files (I made that with Audacity) then on Logic Pro I've added a second vocal line, and the characteristic bass/guitar line, that I played here with the acoustic (the bass E note being moved down to D, obviously). I then reimported the final audio mix into the video with iMovie.

Yvalain sings "We'll Meet Again" a song written in 1939 by Ross Parker/Hugh Charles, sung by many singers since then. I discovered it sung by Johnny Cash. I like the nostalgic and yet hopeful mood of that song. Technical info: I made a live recording of the main vocal and the guitar. I extracted the audio from the video (a simple function with QuickTime). Then, under Logic Pro I reinforced the guitar beats and doubled the vocal in some parts, yet trying to keep the simplicity of this project. I finally reimported the audio mix in the video with iMovie.

Yvalain sings "I'll Be On My Way" by Lennon/McCartney A rare song that can be heard only on the Live at the BBC album. Until today I was certain that this was a Buddy Holly song until I've checked the credits and found out that it was a Beatles composition! Free Falling Smile, an original by Yvalain Musical collaboration with Glenn Basham and Remco Heemskerk All credits in the video. (c) July 2013 That song is about the alienation we all should feel when manipulated and brainwashed by the mass media and the need (that we should satisfy) to make something of our lives. Verse 1: Had enough of sitting here Watching all the morons on TV Yes, I'm sick of this empty talk Making me waste my time Don't want to be a bystander Yes, I want to escape, yeah, I want to be free Chorus Free falling smile See how my feet get out of control Free falling smile That routine turns into rock n' roll Verse 2: Have to go, have to change the world I have to calm down the rage inside I must act, I must seek flawless For everything I was taught, it was wrong Don't want to be an onlooker Yes, I want to escape, yeah, I want to be free Repeat Chorus

Another Gentle Knock by Yvalain A melody that I created in my late 20's and recorded now with a minimalist orchestration : acoustic guitar, electric guitar and some synth strings to complete the mood. I'm always impressed by Mark Taylor's acoustic work and I wanted to make a little tribute to him with that piece of music. I like his gentle play on acoustic guitar, with nice melodies. I'm not as accurate as him in my playing but I tried to keep in mind that simplicity can magnify some melodies.

The Animals Song, an original played and sung by Yvalain Composed and recorded on June 2013. This is a funny song I made with an air I created in my early 20's and I hope you'll like that "Yvalain in Dixieland" attempt! 1. Little lamb don’t be afraid I will never hurt you Cos’ I became vegan Yes I became vegan 2. Little veal I love you too You can stay with you mother I don’t need to eat your flesh This is not good for both of us Cos’ I became vegan… Bridge: Cereals are delicious I like rice and quinoa too Carrot cakes, organic bread And vegetables are so tasty Sweet cow please give me some milk Because I love all kinds of cheese I like animals in the wild I don’t like to see them in pain 3. Some people eat cats and dogs Some prefer the snakes But I became vegan… 4. Little pork, little chicken I’ll never send you to the slaughterhouse Cos’ I’ve became vegan…

BACK AGAIN, an original by Yvalain with Jacques Delorenzi: vocals, creator of all harmonies Yvalain: bass, guitars, special effects Recorded in 2012 and 2013. Vocals in Jan 2013. New mix June 2013. Many thanks to my accomplice: Jacques for his wonderful vocals. That song was already posted 4 months ago but Jacques was not too happy with the mix as his vocals were slightly late on the rhythm. So this is repaired now as long as more changes in the mix. I hope you'll appreciate that more efficient version as much as the earlier one. Furthermore, now there is a video (and I'm quite happy with it)! This is a protest song about the madness of a world where everyone is brought to stand against his brother. Back Again, I wont look back Behind my shoulders big black clouds Back Again, I wont back down Ill find a way out deep blue skies Back Again, Where have you been For me no stone to rest my head All your little lies, you know Im fed up with no truth Listen As stranger as he can be A disarmed man walks alone A loser without any key Watch him back home Theres no welcome Back Again, What should I know I cant remember the happy days Back Again, A single blow Anythings good to feel OK Back Again, What do you mean By saying: Ive never met him What a little lie, you know Im fed up with no truth Listen Nobody's playing in the street What kind of world has risen while he was away A failing ground under the feet Where are the thoughts, where are the words he used to say?
