My dad got my first guitar when I was 8 years old. Spent a lot more time listening than playing in those years. I got serious about music around 15 and really hit a stride in college at The University of Virginia. The budding music scene in C'Ville in the early 90's was rife with both local talent and strong players coming out of the academic scene. Those years exposed me to a uniquely diverse range of influences and a healthy environment surrounded by many great musicians practicing and creating together. Once I was exposed to that scene, it always felt like becoming a musician was inevitable... it felt like home.
