I was sixteen when someone showed me how to play Jean Genie ... kind of made it up from there ...
What was the first concert you ever went to?
David Bowie, Ziggy Stardust at the Hammersmith Odeon (as it was then).
What gear do you use?
My favourite is my Ibanez Series Sr ... something, I also have a Baritone Gretsch, a Les Paul Copy by Epiphone, a Dean (low end but remarkably good guitar), an Ovation Celebrity Acoustic, A Fender La Brea Acoustic, A Flying V Ukelele, A four string Banjo and a Yamaha keyboard, stylophone and kazoos.
Who was your biggest musical influence growing up?
The Punk Movement
Are you in a band? Have you been in bands?
I am in a band called 14 Carat Grapefruit, we are a "mid-life crisis" offensive comedy band.
If you could jam with anyone, who would it be?
Joe Strummer, because you get the impression he was a go for it kind of guy.
What's the biggest audience you ever performed to? What's the smallest?
Biggest audience was probably around 80 people, smallest probably around twenty people. Most memorable was in the eighties supporting the American Bodines at The Manning Hall, London.
You're stuck on a desert island and only get to bring one album with you. What do you pick?
Probably Jackson Browns' Running on empty. I got it about a year after it came out and I still play it now, three decades later ... I like it because the songs are timeless.
