I have been playing Classical guitar on and off for 20 years now I have been playing professionally 15 years, and love every day of it.

The first classical guitar concert i went to was Carlos Bonell playing with the Ulster Orchestra in the Ulster Hall Belfast. What an experience that was, and it was that concert that inspired me to take up the classical guitar. I actually meet Carlos Bonell the next morning as he was coming out of the Europa Hotel, and would you believe it I ended up performing with him on stage 15 years later at the City of Derry Guitar Festival and then 3 years after that at the Conigeliano Guitar Festival (Italy).

My instrument is a Classical Guitar made by one of europe's finest guitar makers Bert Kwakkel for Holland. i have had it from the beginning of my professional career 12 years now. What an instrument it is.

I have to say Led Zeppelin, I believe the emotions that were stirred up by the music of these true rock legends has served me well in my own musical interpretation and thought. On the classical side i have to say Julian Bream; his interpretations of Spanish great such as Albeniz, Granados and De Falle to name but a few, are truly inspirational.

Has to be Julian Bream, and simply because he's my hero.
