I started playing cornet when I was 12 years old at the Salvation Army in Gouda. At the age of 14 years I added guitar , organ & bass. I left the Salvation Army when I was 16 years and started playing in Rock Bands. When I was 22 years old I started to play the Chapman Stick in 1981. I played and lived in the UK (Yorkshire) & in France (Paris , St.Tropez, Cannes) In the south of France I lived for a couple of years like a Gypsy in my camper and in a sailing boat. I played many Stick & tapguitar festivals/seminars in Germany, Switzerland, Holland, Belgium, France, Italy & the USA. I also played at many clubs, festivals, corporate & private events in France (Cannes, Monaco, Paris) & Holland (Amsterdam/Paradiso,Milky Way, Scheveningen/Kurhaus). I was a European Chapman Stick Importer for 5 years. I was one of the pioneers of this instrument, which I played for 27 years. I recently switched to a Ziggy tap-bass/guitar which is an instrument like the Stick but produced by the German company Music-Marketing. I also play the 9-string Kelstone and 6 & 7 string Bo~EL, guitars. I do represent these 3 companies., so if anyone wants more info about them , they're welcome to contact me. I've released 2 CDs "Galaxy Gypsy"and "The Seven Sisters" and play as a guest on several CD releases , among them CDs of Rob van de Loo (Holland), Kai Kurosawa (Japan) & Christoph Lapina (USA). I have my own music school in Gouda (Ron's Rockschool Gouda) where I teach to 50 students (Bass, Guitar & Keyboards). My company's called "The Galaxy Gypsy Music Centre".
