I started seriously playing guitar at around the time I entered high school, so I was around 14/15 at the time. But I'd already been noodling with guitars for a few years before that, even back to grade 6. It was mainly my mother who inspired me to play, because she is also a musician herself (she currently teaches music), but there were also influences coming from Celtic orchestras that also made me want to pursue music.
In terms of the trumpet, I've been playing that since grade 6, so it's been a full 6 years that I've been playing it. In terms of musical theory, it is definitely my better instrument.
What was the first concert you ever went to?
The first real concert I ever went to was a Simple Plan concert back in my early highschool days. Wasn't the best show to go to, but hey; music is music.
What gear do you use?
Right now I play an ESP LTD with a Peavey Vypyr 30W amp, alongwith a Boss 353Q Crybaby wah pedal. I also use a Sony Vaio laptop loaded with Audacity to record, and drum software to get my beats.
Currently in search of an affordable second-hand trumpet.
Are you in a band? Have you been in bands?
To this day I still have yet to be in a band, though I have definitely played with a few on several occasions.
If you could jam with anyone, who would it be?
Joe Satriani and Steve Vai, no question.
What's the biggest audience you ever performed to? What's the smallest?
I've performed to audiences as small as twenty people, up to maybe a crowd of a couple hundred. Haven't hit it big time yet.
