My love for music started at a very young age. My Grandfather was a musician and his inspiration was a great asset. I've played guitar for over 30 years, I continue to learn and love playing all styles.
What was the first concert you ever went to?
My first concert was YES back in the mid 70's, it was in upstate NY, I went with my best friend Don. The whole atmosphere and stage show, along with the musicianship of all the players had a unique energy that fed an inner hunger for the craft.
What gear do you use?
I have several instruments, from Gibson to Fender and a PRS as well. For me to pick my favorite is like asking someone to choose their favorite child. They all play fantastic, it depends on the type of music for which I then select the proper tool.
Who was your biggest musical influence growing up?
This is another difficult question as many influenced me. I think it started with Les Paul himself, his playing and genius overdubs enlightened my need to know more. From there, Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, and Carlos Santana gave me the feel and sounds I was searching for. It was my Mom and Grandfather that played Les Paul and many other Jazz greats in our house which led me to want to play and listen further to them and others playing.
If you could jam with anyone, who would it be?
I would have to say David Gilmour for this question as he to me encompasses all the styles I love. His passion, tone, and creative writing is infectious for me.
You're stuck on a desert island and only get to bring one album with you. What do you pick?
Pink Floyd, Animals. Something about that whole piece takes me to a place that is far away, like an island. I first heard it when it was first released, the 70's?
