I was eleven when I got my first guitar. It sat around in my room for a year or so, barely touched, and on my twelfth birthday I decided I was going to teach myself how to play.
What was the first concert you ever went to?
I think it was in 2008, at Oracle Arena. I went with my ex, my cousin, and her ex. It was an Oasis concert, and it was just before they broke up. I'm so glad I went, but I really regret leaving before the encore.
What gear do you use?
An Epiphone AJ200S, and a black BC Rich Warlock with a red tribal pattern; the former is my favourite, because I've had it the longest and it has the most sentimental value for me.
What are you looking for from Fandalism?
People to possibly collaborate with.
Who was your biggest musical influence growing up?
That's a huge question. There's a lot of bands and musicians who influenced me growing up, but I'd have to say the one I always go back to would be Noel Gallagher from Oasis. I love Oasis, their music is so soothing to me; and Noel Gallagher is such a modest man, unlike Liam - I love them both to death, but I always imagine being an artist like Noel moreso than Liam.
Are you in a band? Have you been in bands?
I'm not really in a band; I'm in a duo with my boyfriend, technically, but we've been on musical hiatus for the longest time. I usually do solo stuff on my own. Indie, Acoustic, Alternative rock, if you could even classify it; we met in high school and started dating, and then realized that we both play music and collaborate pretty well. I haven't played any huge shows, just little coffee-shop gigs if you will, and I've done a couple fundraising gigs on air for a community radio station.
If you could jam with anyone, who would it be?
Noel Gallagher. He's my hero.
What's the biggest audience you ever performed to? What's the smallest?
Oh jeez... well, the radio station got ~700 hits the night that I played, so I guess that's the biggest audience I've 'performed' to, and the smallest would be just a regular room full of people. I mean, shit, I play guitar for my roommate all the time.
You're stuck on a desert island and only get to bring one album with you. What do you pick?
What's The Story, Morning Glory? by Oasis. I bought it when I was a freshman in high school. My favourite album by them, and probably the only album I could put on repeat and NOT get irritated.
