How long have you been playing?
Started noodling on my Dad's guitar when I was around 7, started taking lessons 3 years later, first electric when I was 14....that was 30 years ago. Why did I become a musician? Because how music made me feel when I heard it, I wanted to play it and feel it even more! And Gene Simmons was totally Bad A$$, and I wanted to be like him, LOL!
What was the first concert you ever went to?
I was way young, and was snuck to the show. Frank Zappa & the mothers of invention & Kiss; we'll leave it at that to protect the responsible parties.
What gear do you use?
I have a customized Les Paul copy, a '93 franken-strat, a customized Tele (built from one of the finest Squier vintages) a Yamaha bass, a Takamine electric/acoustic, a Gallien Krueger 250RL, Crate stereo 2x12 cab, Boss ME-70, and a Fender Mustang practice amp. I love them all!!
Who was your biggest musical influence growing up?
Randy Rhoads, Beatles, Queen, AC/DC, Old school Van Halen (better than the current junk), Queensryche, Kiss, Scorpions....ah never mind, can't name them all. I respected those guitar players & bands that could evoke an emotional response with their playing and or music.....
Are you in a band? Have you been in bands?
Been in many bands in my day, played everything from blue grass, to classic rock, hair metal & Christian. I have played big and small venues in that time as well. Putting the finishing touches on my current band "288" name for 1 Chronicles 25:7 in the Bible. Current music is metal!! We'll be doing youth camps, Bike events, anything where they will let us play....
If you could jam with anyone, who would it be?
The obvious Stevie Ray Vaughn, Steve Vai, Emppu Vourinen, Oz Fox & Michael Sweet, Paul Stanley.......
What's the biggest audience you ever performed to? What's the smallest?
Smallest was probably 50 at a dive back in High School (the "35 Bar"). 2007 played to about 2000 at a Christian Conference Maranatha Muskegon, MI
You're stuck on a desert island and only get to bring one album with you. What do you pick?
Anything by Nightwish, probably the double disc "End of an Era", it has it all, great music, great vocals and great guitar....
