Singing in choirs and chorus since a child at about 15 a friend heard me singing with a Heart song and said Wow! you can really sing and the rest is history.
Who was your biggest musical influence growing up?
There are so many for so many different reasons. Heart, Pat Benatar, Laurie Sargent, Martha Davis, Grace Slick. Because they were strong women who kicked ass and took names!!! The could sing and rock as hard as any guy I knew. I loved that!! Today Grace Potter is right there for me.....
Are you in a band? Have you been in bands?
I have been in many bands. The Players, The States, played with The Spores, Gear and other bands that never got anywhere but rehearsal or I did back-ups and they ranged from hard to pop but they were all some form of rock. Currently I am in a band called Slapback. We are a rock band with a funk edge. Slapback consists of: Myself - vocal, Steve Cole - bass, David Grutter - drums & Rick Gordon - guitar. It's a funkin' rockin' band.... My favorite and best band I've ever played in. The musicianship is incredible and I'm blessed to be playing with these guys.....
If you could jam with anyone, who would it be?
Heart because they are my ultimate favorite and just the coolest women. Pat Benatar because she's tough, cool and has a gorgeous voice. I would love to play with Grace Potter, Joe Bonamassa, Chris Daughtry. So many more than room for.
What's the biggest audience you ever performed to? What's the smallest?
The smallest was anywhere from about 2 to 5 people and that's because a fight broke out and the club cleared out just before we got on. The largest was roughly 600 at the Paradise Rock Club and or The Channel can't remember which had the most.
You're stuck on a desert island and only get to bring one album with you. What do you pick?
I don't know because it's hard to pick just one really. I like many different albums for many different reasons.
