my mother taught me piano when i was seven. i picked up a guitar when i was about 15. the rest is history!

pearl jam, memorial stadium, 1998. seeing pearl jam play lowlight!
What gear do you use?
alvarez acoustic guitars. a 6 string and a 12 string. i also have a american standard telecaster. a various other guitars, mandolins, glochs, and strange bells, etc
Who was your biggest musical influence growing up?
three fish, was the biggest influence for me at the very start of me picking up the guitar. and further down the winding road of songwriting they really opened my mind to the importance lyrical relevance of the words. and how to write something truly good... conveying what it was i was trying to get across with few words and solid images. the best thing is the guitarist/vocalist of that band has heard my music and we have a mutual respect for each other's art. the circle is complete in many ways.
Are you in a band? Have you been in bands?
several. namely: josette's eye (1996-2002), stroma (2003-2004), and the empty hollow (2005-2007). all through that i have had friends i have done a rotating group of improv projects with. food web, smoked salad, super smart ferrets.
