How long have you been playing?
Ever since I was born. I first started out playing a guitar that was loaned to my mom by some guy she knew. I remember learning by ear (I wasn't even 5 yet!) Eric Clapton's Change the World.
What was the first concert you ever went to?
Toby Keith. Can't remember the year for the life of me. I remember his yellow Ford truck literally crashing through the stage. I only went to the concert because I wouldn't pass on a free one. I have never been a huge country fan.
What gear do you use?
Anything I can get my hands on haha.
I started off with the LK-40 Casio at my grandma's house. Well, after her passing it was willed over to me. I let my cousin have it since her keyboard was damaged and at that time I had much better keyboards. I then got a Yamaha PSR-500, E203, E303, then got a Technics KN-1000, then with my own money without my parents' support, I bought a Korg DS-8. After that with my own money, I also bought a Yamaha DX-27. Then for my birthday, my mom let me get the Yamaha YPG-235. After that, I eventually got a Casio WK-6500. I also own a Roland U-110, MT-32 and a Tascam US-122 MIDI Interface. I still have the Korg DS-8 to the MIDI interface. I currently have two keyboards stacked up on each other on a tier; my Yamaha YPG-235 on the top and my Casio WK-6500 on the bottom.
As far as software goes, here are all the programs I have used and have experience with: AdLib Visual Composer, Digital Orchestrator Pro, Famitracker, Fasttracker II, Milkytracker, Digital Orchestrator 3, Sonar 8.5 Studio.

Who was your biggest musical influence growing up?
Kevin Hearn of the Barenaked Ladies. He's the reason why I got into playing keyboards/piano. Barenaked Ladies was one of my favorite bands I grew up listening to.
Are you in a band? Have you been in bands?
Bands at school, but not any real bands.
If you could jam with anyone, who would it be?
It would be without a shadow of a doubt Kevin Hearn. He has had a STRONG impact on my music playing.
There are other people as well, dead and alive: Nat King Cole, Eric Woolfson of the Alan Parsons Project, John Lennon of the Beatles, Lonnie Jordan of War, Rod Temperton of Heatwave. There are probably more but I can't think of any more off the top of my head.

What's the biggest audience you ever performed to? What's the smallest?
I've been in band concerts and competitions at my school. Just a medium-sized audience.
You're stuck on a desert island and only get to bring one album with you. What do you pick?
That's probably the toughest question in my life. I really don't have a favorite.
Nick Kalata hasn't uploaded any pics yet.
