How long have you been playing?
I have been a performer for over 40 years! Darn, showing my age! Started playing Piano at 6, violin at 10, harmonica at 12, guitar at 13, sax at 30, and I fiddle with the Indian flute, jews harp, singing bowls and other percussion instruments....BUT REALLY, the only one I have mastered (or at least think I have, haha) is the Harmonica with a bit of vocals and dancing thrown in....most of all, I am a performer and people seem to like it! At least I hope so!!!! That's my story and I'm sticking to it!!
What was the first concert you ever went to?
Geez, now you are really making me work my brain, Concert....gosh I went to so many starting at the age of 14 and it was about $5.00 to get in! Thinking maybe the J Giles band Magic Dick or perhaps John Mayal...Deep Purple or Humble Pie....man are you trying to rack my brain here? Lets just say LOTS!
What gear do you use?
I am a big LEE OSKAR HARMONICA fan as far as Harps. I play with an instrument mic but looking to replace it now. I like a Nice CRISP sound....not a bullet mic kinda girl!
I have 2 LOH (Lee Oskar Harps) cases, one holds all my harps, mic, music toys, toothbrush, cords etc. for gigs and local jams. The other is a small LOH case which holds 7 harps and has a small pocket for song lyrics or toothbrush etc. and great for traveling. No airport TSA issues.

Who was your biggest musical influence growing up?
As far as playing music....my mother was my first influence teaching me old harmonica songs and we'd do duets with her piano. Then Magic Dick/John Mayal my 2nd influence. For the rest of my years until 30, I was a closet harmonicist and almost no one knew I played unless it was your birthday and I whipped it out and sang and played and BLEW your mind! Everything I learned was just from watching other local musicians and asking questions, but mostly, PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE...it was never about the money or fame but about the surprise on people's faces to see a WOMAN play harp!!
Are you in a band? Have you been in bands?
The most exciting thing would be the FIRST EVER in history (of harmonica music) ALL WOMEN'S blues harp CD called BLUES HARP WOMEN distributed by Ruf Records of Germany. There are 36 women performing on the 2CD set. It's an honor and a pleasure to be recognized as a female harmonica virtuoso! Out sometime in 2015!
Sept 2015-2016 I am traveling around the world, finding jams-playing, taking photos and video, meeting owners of music venues and posting on my Ms Harmonica Facebook Fan Page and my new blog THE TRAVELING HARMONICA - www.thetravelingharmonica.com
Lee Oscar is a super generous man and I have recently been chosen as a Featured Player for his upcoming campaign LET'S HEAR IT FOR THE GIRLS. Myself and 3 other harp woman will each have a custom video about us and our music linked to Lee's website, plus cards and give-aways, and a concert to perform with Lee sometime in 2016. He also endorses my blog and loves my passion for bringing local musicians around the world together!
LOTS of bands over the years, always with the best and kindest and talented friends. I've done a few talent shows, theater shows, parties, bars, festivals, Opry show, weddings, brewery's and even a prison...you name it!!!

If you could jam with anyone, who would it be?
Dead or Alive???? Big Mama Thorton, Bonnie Rait, Sting, President Clinton, Louis Armstrong, Robert Plant, Tom Jones, Prince, Joan Armatrading, Aretha Franklin and James Brown.... good god, I could be here all day....they all just float my boat and it would be fun to play different kinds of music! AND anyone around the world that would LOVE to jam with me...just sayin!!
What's the biggest audience you ever performed to? What's the smallest?
I was voted in by the San Luis Obispo CA Blues Association as one of the top 5 BLUES DIVAS on the CA central coast and I opened and closed an outdoor festival of blues music with over 500 attending!
A tiny venue in Pescara Italy and it was just as fun playing in a foreign country with the local folk!

You're stuck on a desert island and only get to bring one album with you. What do you pick?
You are going to laugh, but it would be the sound track to the movie EAT PRAY LOVE....it's a mix of international, funk, and an array of melodies....I never tire of it and it keeps me in check. And if that was not possible...then anything LED ZEPPLIN or JAME BROWN, lol.
