I was about 15 when I picked up an old battered Fender acoustic my dad gave me! He tought me few basic chords, the rest is history.
What was the first concert you ever went to?
I went to see Placebo in Manchester uni, with some school friends. I went on to the the band a further 21 times.
Who was your biggest musical influence growing up?
James Taylor, Jeff Buckley, Elliot Smith.
James Taylor was introduced to me by my dad who took me to see him a few times. His songwriting ability is beyond anything I have come across.
Are you in a band? Have you been in bands?
I've been in one metal band called Carmen. Group of misfits from skem, we got together and we did one show, then that was the end.
If you could jam with anyone, who would it be?
Jeff Buckley. Easy question. I chose him because his free spirit came out in all he did, and his songwriting was something very special indeed.
What's the biggest audience you ever performed to? What's the smallest?
Smallest was probably in the back room of the Plough Pub, Ormskirk to about 5 people. The most memorable so far was the EP launch nights in Engine Rooms, Skem and Mello Mello in Liverpool. Mainly as these gigs were the first after the new EP was made. My first ever proper recording.
You're stuck on a desert island and only get to bring one album with you. What do you pick?
