What are you looking for from Fandalism?
To expose my music and thoughts to others and find like minded people to work with.
Who was your biggest musical influence growing up?
It would depend at what point in my life you were asking. I loved early Bowie, Patti Smith, The Velvet Underground and Nico, Brian Eno, The Rolling Stones, Alice Cooper, Black Sabbath, Elton John, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Tuxedomoon, Indoor Life, The early punk scene in Seattle; The Telepaths, Blackouts; Clone, The Fags, and the early Punk scene in San Francisco: The Dead Kennedy's, The Avengers,Nuns with Guns, The Wounds, Flipper, The Mutants, Toiling Midgets, G.O. D.,Crawford, Bad Posture, The Wild Women, Tanks, La Familia, Romeo Void, Translator, Scotty and Iguana Studios, 3rd st. Studios. In 1980 I took Electronic Music at San Francisco City College and learned about making tape loops using analog 4 tracks , and synthesizers. .Later in Humboldt County hooked up with Cynde Gehman and she had the folk and 60's influence and I had the punk, experimental, electronic and goth influence, and together we created:-). Later when i moved to Port Angeles met up with a group of guys and we created Degradationzero a rhythmic metal band. After the demise of Degradationzero I started getting back into Electronic music again and began creating using Fruity Loops, Reason, Drum machines, and Cubase. I still pick up the acoustic and create on guitar as well:-)
Are you in a band? Have you been in bands?
I have been in bands but not presently. I met some musicians thru ads, some at shows and some at open mics.
If you could jam with anyone, who would it be?
I find the new sounds fascinating and would like to know more about how they produce and mix so Skrillex might be one I would like to learn from. As far as jamming I'm not sure. Too many to name. There are many unsigned artists I would like to jam with. I think there are more unsigned artists I would like to jam with then signed artists come to think of it:)
I'm actually more into doing compilations with other artists then jamming at this point but with the right inspiration and direction I might consider it.
What's the biggest audience you ever performed to? What's the smallest?
Clubs in San Francisco, Humboldt County and Port Angeles were both the smallest and the largest venues as well as the most memorable.
You're stuck on a desert island and only get to bring one album with you. What do you pick?
That's a lot to think about since I have so many favorites. I would make one album of all my favorite genres and artists! Different moods require different music:)
