How long have you been playing?
over 45 years, non stop. first song written: Jr. High school. My musical "career" started in grade school, learned to play sax. Then, when my brother went off to college, he left his guitar under his bed, and I taught myself (with a Mel Bay book)..., learned fast, and became better than my brother.
What was the first concert you ever went to?
Chicago in 1969. they were Still C.T.A. at the time. It opened my eyes for sure! A whole bunch of school kids took a bus for the show. ( I think... - was really drunk at the time). the 2nd BIG show was Grand Funk Railroad - that show changed my life!!!!
What gear do you use?
Got a Les Paul look-a-like: Crestwood Guitar, and a Tex-Mex Telecaster, and an Taylor Acoustic. I use a Carvin amp and pre-amp, and a smaller Acoustic amp which is nearly as heavy as the Carvin... LOL The only stomp box I use is a Boss Overdrive.
Who was your biggest musical influence growing up?
Michael Bloomfield speaks to me in his playing...., (also E.C.), but in high school, traded a Live Adventures album for Johnny Winter's first release. I had never heard anyone play as fast as he did.
Are you in a band? Have you been in bands?
Been in a band since high school. Rock. We were cover bands, learning 30 songs a week by heart - did it easily ;(unlike today....). Just playing the tunes was not enough, showmanship was a really big deal - had to leave the folks wanting more... and laughing WITH us,....
If you could jam with anyone, who would it be?
Always been my dream to jam with E.C. nowadays, I'd take anyone - who could lay down sweet solos over my changes... hear how someone else adds to mine or anyone's tunes. It's all about making music together... that, to me is magic.
You're stuck on a desert island and only get to bring one album with you. What do you pick?
My Greatest Hits (it's a 6 c.d. box set) why? I like what I do.... LOL
LeechyNut Haven hasn't uploaded any music yet. Sup with that.
