Ken Lehnig - Songwriter
'Woe Shiloh' written by Ken Lehnig(c)2009
Desert Windsong Pub. BMI
Uploaded 1 year ago
How long have you been playing?
The first song I learned on guitar was Wake Up Little Suzie by the Everly Brothers - you do the math.;)
What was the first concert you ever went to?
I think it was in New Orleans Fats Domino late 50's I 'got' a new music.
What are you looking for from Fandalism?
In a sense a songwriter uses the mind but writes from the heart and if successful the message is cleaner /purer. the same is true of singers and instrumentalists - the hope that a purer chord is struck in the listener. Music is a blessing for the creator, for the player, and the listener. For any musician the hope and goal is to make a living at what we do, to be heard and to be appreciated. But the highest honor, if the truth be told, is to get respect and appreciation from your peers.

Who was your biggest musical influence growing up?
Eclectic mix- Terresa Brewer, Everly Brothers, Isley brothers, Righteous Brothers, Ames Brothers, The Coasters, Beatles, Stones, Taj Majal, Fats Domino, Artie Shaw, Bessie Smith, Robert Johnson...
Are you in a band? Have you been in bands?
Yes - Rock, blues, original, country. Ken Lehnig and the Burning Sage Band has been at it about 18 years. new album coming out soon.
If you could jam with anyone, who would it be?
The Band.
What's the biggest audience you ever performed to? What's the smallest?
Maybe 5000 - and one person in a bar in LA. Best weird gig -. I was longhaired in the 60s playing Credence Clearwater tunes to a room full of rich furred and bejeweled patrons. They Loved it I felt as if I fell into Alice's Wonderland. Best tips I ever got.
You're stuck on a desert island and only get to bring one album with you. What do you pick?
Hot Meat Frank Zappa. Long ago far away. Ahead of its time! 'Into the Purple Valley' Ry Cooder would be the 2nd choice. Ry's take was rich in story, history, and culture.
