Speeches - a musical statement played live by Kaiboard. Hi my friends, it is quite a long song again, but I think it's worth to spend some minutes for it. If you don't want to watch the whole video, please check at least the last three minutes :-). Since some time I carefully watch how speeches of politicians influence the style of communication in our society and vice versa. There are wonderful examples of political leaders who created an atmosphere of hope, trust and freedom. Speeches that changed the world. Around 70 years after the end of the second world war we hear speeches in the public life we thought we never ever would have to listen to in the western world. Cheered by social media bots, trolls and politicians they create an atmosphere of mistrust, vilification and hate, most often with an attitude being the chosen one or with a reference to god or 'the people’. And again with the potential to change the world and the way how we live together. As all Coat of Kazakhstan Productions played live in one track with the following instruments: Doepfer Modular (AJH MiniMod, RI Swarm Oscillator RT311, Roland System 500, MI Braids …), Doepfer Dark Time, Koma Komplex, GRP A4, Roland TR8, DSO Pro2, Korg Triton LE, Roland JD800, Roland D50, Forte Brainspawn with Arturia, Korg, Spectrasonic and more VSTs).

America - a collaboration with Melanie Cholie, Melvin Donovan, Giampiero Giamp. This song is quite special, not because it took so long to complete :-) It needed Melvin Donovan (Acc guitar, composition, vocals) from the US to make it happen that I did my first project with Melanie (vocals, lyrics, video), who's based in Munich and we know us since a few years, and my first project with André (bass, drums) since 30 years or so. André and I used to play in a few bands in our hometown Ulm in the late 80ies. Also on board is the master of e-guitar Giampiero Giamp from Italy. My contribution: Keys, Synths, arrangement, music production, video refinement. Have fun.

CAUTION!! This is an musical experiment :-) What’s the Noise? Four Live Jams with modular synths. Inspired by some electronic music performances on the Superbooth 2017 (a very famous synth fair in Berlin) I tried to create some similar stuff, meaning creating music without using a keyboard, without a melody, without harmonies. I never did this before and therefore I'm just a mere amateur. I recorded four sessions each around 6 to 9 minutes. As no normal human being will be able to stand such a challenge, i compiled some minutes of the four sessions in one video. The complete Session #4 is available for the hard ones of you on YouTube https://youtu.be/EjILB7mZRs0. Equipment used: Doepfer A100, GRP A4, AJH MiniMod, RIadical Instruments Swarm Oscillator RT311, Mutable Instruments Braids and Peaks, Roland System 500, DSI Pro 2, Koma Komplex Sequencer

Hey there, my new studio is ready and I'm back on Fando. After three months of spending every free minute to reconstruct my cellar studio, I'm finally done (in every sense). Take a quick tour through my new studio and watch some pictures from the different stages of the construction. It was the first day with all the synths being connected and powered on. I couldn't let my hands off my synths and checked the functionality during a short impro session. Thanks to my wife Higi and my son Merlin for making this happen. And introducing my grandson Jonas as camera operator.

New Year - a collaboration with Mel Donovan, Kent Taylor, Bill Watkins and Brice Cross. In the first week of 2017 Mel sent me a beautiful acoustic guitar tune he recorded on New Years Day and asked me to add some keyboards. The spirit of the piece was so tangible that this was quite an easy job to do - despite having any click track and fixed tempo. So it felt like doing a live session with a good friend ;-) Then Kent (dr), Bill (b) and Brice (g) added their amazing talent. The brilliant sound was created by Kent, the video with the stunning skiing scenes by Mel. I am so happy to be a part of this cool project with these fantastic musicians.

ENTER IN MY SPACE WORLD part2. A collaboration with Pierre Rosique, Jack Scannell and Scott Powers. I was very happy that my good friend Pierre Rosique asked me to contribute to his project 'Enter in my Space World'. We talked since some years about a collaboration and finally made it happen. Pierre Rosique - composition, synthesizers, lyrics, spoken words, mixing, graphic design (and heart and soul of the project); Jack Scannell - alto sax; Scott Powers - bass; Kaiboard - synths, piano, composition.

Echo of Humanity - A time-asynchronous jam session between John Wegner (Australia) and Kaiboard (Germany). It all started when I saw a video of a drone flying over the destroyed city of Aleppo and discussed this with John. We both felt this loneliness and desperation of the people there. Two years ago we did the ‘Throw Me Away‘ project ( http://www.fandalism.com/kaiboard/dqSg ) which addressed a similar topic, so we had a common understanding. Then the idea of a virtual jam session came up with music that expresses the loneliness, the sadness but also with a glimpse of hope and humanity. We started with creating some live played stuff on the keys (mainly using analog synthesizers and sequencers) and John added beautiful guitar, also playing live. So, it was like a live session but not played at the same time. Both of us were alone but we made some music together overcoming thousands of kilometers, different languages and cultures, expressing a common view on the world. And it felt good! The video from Aleppo is available on multiple sources. We’re aware that often footage like this is published with a political intention. We follow none of these intentions, our intention is just to rise awareness of the insane things happening these times in many placed of the earth. We took the version from Euronews, you find it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rkb3y6K3waU&t=72s . We’re using it for a strictly non-commercial purpose.

Barefoot Jigs on Pushpins - a collaboration with HG Schmitz. I am very happy that HG let me contribute to this brilliant heavy rock piece. Felt like home ;-) Compared to the esoteric stuff I do normally it was so cool to play this down to earth rock song. HG Schmitz: guitars, bass, drums, composition. I contributed: keys, synths, audio and video production. Please visit also HG's site on Fando. I used some videos from the Internet. I mention them (and the links) in the end credits. I couldn't ask for permission but assume that's ok to use them for this strictly non-commercial project.

Triptychon - a live performance by Kaiboard. Triptychon, inspired by a painting by Hieronymus Bosch (1450-1516), is a musical interpretation of this famous painting. As all coat of Kasakhstan productions everything was played live. This was quite an interesting project as it took several sessions to master the complexity of the modular synthesizer with its own behavior ;-) Instruments used: Synths: GRP A4, DSI Pro2, Roland JD800 and D50, Korg Triton LE, some few VSTs. Sequencers: Koma Komplex, DarkTime, Arturia BeatStep. Doepfer Modular System with modules from: Doepfer, Mutable Instruments, AJH, Roland

The MIDI MONSTERS - a performance from 1986 - far ahead of its time. Just got this gem from my good friend Dietmar Mogwitz. With a bunch of innovative people we created this performance, during a Rock festival in my hometown Ulm. I think the Bluesbreakers played before us, so you can imagine how shocked the Blues fans were, seeing us entering the stage in white coats, just pushing knobs and not playing any instrument. Everything came from sequencers (in 1986!), we added some Dada-lyrics (read by yours truly, as I also did the moderation) and hired some friends for dance performances. The audience hated us (as you can clearly hear during the performance). I never ever got such a bad feedback, but we loved it. Unfortunately the last part couldn't be performed as the cassette tape interface refused to load the data file ;-)

HARDWARE - the return of the coat. My first project with my analog modular synth as a center piece. As my analog equipment grows step by step I wanted to make a piece just using hardware gear. It was not easy to get this analog stuff running (and tuned) and I learned a lot about control voltages, gate signals, patching, linear and exponential VCAs etc. So it took much more time than expected. Especially as the system sounded different every times as I powered it up. I think this is the challenge and the beauty of working with such ‚living‘ equipment. Gear used: Koma Komplex and Doepfer DarkTime Sequencers, Doepfer A-100 Analog Modular System (Doepfer and AJH modules), Roland JD-800, D-50 and PC -180 keyboards, Korg Triton LE 88 and Roland Bass pedals - and the famous coat of Kasakhstan, of course. Have fun!

Hulk Joke Jail Plan - a mystery musical project. A co-creation of my (musical) brother John Wegner, his (real) brother and featuring the genius Kjell Johansson. Hulk Joke Jail Plan is a track with an interesting background. It started off with Paul doing a drum track to a song he knew. We asked him not to tell us what it was. Then John and I set about putting music to it. It has been a fun experiment building up the music, especially the middle section which stops and starts all over the place!!!! Although, it has taken quite a while to get to this point. Then we asked Kjell to play bass and he added his magic ( a lot quicker than us doing the rest of it). Anyway, it’s awesome to finally get to the point where we can share it with you! Hulk Joke Jail Plan is an anagram of Kai, John, Paul and Kjell. All the ‘lyrics’ are also anagrams of Paul Wegner: Drums Kaiboard: Keyboards, Audio John Wegner: Guitar, Guitar Synth, Voice, Video Kjell Johansson: Bass

Piece of Fun - revisited with Kjell. A collaboration across three continents and four countries: Brice Cross - guitar; Alan Corne - drums; Kjell Johansson - bass; Kaiboard - keyboards, composition, production. Around two years ago I wrote this piece for a bass player I didn’t know at this time - Kjell ;-) In the meantime I got in touch with Kjell during another project, so I asked him to finally complete this piece. Brice and Alan made a fabulous job anyway. Thanks to the contribution of my friends my tiny piece became a great fun and I think it’s worth to publish it again with a real bass. As I asked my mates to send a few photos of places which in their eyes are pure fun, I got beautiful pics from their countries. You will see they are not just talented musicians but great photographers, too. And obviously we all love places with water - just watch the video. Have fun!!

Afterglow - an acoustic interpretation of a Tony Banks/Genesis song by SaGoBa and Kaiboard Since many years I play this song on my piano at home. Some of you might know that I am a huge fan of Genesis and Tony Banks. (To those who don't know, watch this: http://www.fandalism.com/kaiboard/dcv2 ) Even if Afterglow is quite simple compared to the other Genesis stuff, it owns a special fragility and beauty. Originally I planned to do a version under the motto 'Genesis for two Grand Pianos' following an idea of two scandinavian piano players who released two CDs some years ago. But during my last project with Sam it became clear that his fantastic voice would be the perfect match for this song (and it is!). I changed the arrangement towards a more symphonic one and was so happy that Sam added these beautiful choir parts. Photos by Sam (USA), my kids Merlin (Thaiiand) and Pauline (Italy), and myself (Canary Islands, France, Germany). Why can't we know - a transatlantic collaboration with SaGoBa, Kjell Johansson, Danny Roffe and Kaiboard. It all started two years ago, while I was on vacation in the South of France. I recorded on my iPad the basic sketches for this song. For a long time this song slept in my file system, then I had a chat with Doc Protool and he proposed to ask Sam, whether he wanted to join. Sam brought this wonderful melody lines, the beautiful lyrics - and his outstanding voice into the project. We had a lot of discussions how to arrange the song, technical issues and so on. Without him this song never could be finalized. Thanks Uncle Sam. He also proposed to ask Kjell to join the project. Kjell ist not only the bass player within the federation of planets, he's also such a funny and cool guy. He added with his great versatility this precise and colorful drum programming, too. The icing on the cake was Danny, who brought so much life in the song. Thanks my friends for your talent, your friendship and all the funny chats we had about FIFA, Swedish Prim Ministers, Meatballs, Rubber Boats and GongHogs. SaGoBa - vocals, melody lines, lyrics Kjell Johansson - bass, drum programming Danny Roffe - all guitars Kaiboard - keyboards, instrumental composition, music and video production. Here're Sam's great lyrics: Why Can't We Know? Ah Oh Ah Ah Oh Ah Verse This too shall be, understood, I know it will be The end will come, But for now, I struggle to see Sometimes we're wrong, sometimes we're right, Come what may i'll wander on, wondering, What's left to pay Ah Oh Ah Ah Oh Ah Verse A mystery yet unfolds, Before my eyes Will I be too late, or will Heaven fall from the skies? How can we know, how high we reach, There's no end in sight Frozen in time, standing still, We look to the light Chorus Why can't we know what lies ahead, Beyond the dread, that's all we need to know, For sure Bend down an ear to hear our prayer, Here or there, Tonight Ah Oh Ah Ah Oh Ah Video references: see end credits

What does a space probe dream? 'Philae's Dream' is a musical dream catcher, telling the story of Philae, the first space craft which landed on a comet. One of the most advanced technical achievements of the mankind. Unfortunately Philae landed in a dark space of the comet. After 60 hours of work, it ran out of power and was set into a sleep mode. So I asked myself, what does Philae dream, so alone on a comet's surface? So I made a little piece around Philae's dream. The whole piece was played live, using four sequencers (GRP A4, DSI Pro2, Doepfer Dark Time, Arturia Beatstep), my finally repaired Roland JD 800 and a many VSTs on my Forte Brainspawn host, played all my hands and feet ;-) Have fun!

Throw Me Away - a co-creation with John Wegner from Australia. It all started with a rough idea that we didn't want to do a 'space song' epic again ;-) So John came up with a tiny, frugal piece of rhythm played on his iElectribe. This became the nucleus of the song. We developed the piece step by step and it became obvious that we both wanted to make a song about people who are being thrown away and expelled from their home and their families. We wanted to share our thoughts and emotions regarding this situation. In the middle of the piece there is a dramatic section from a child's perspective. John's voice is everything but not childish ;-). So I asked my daughter Pauline, whether she wanted to sing. And I am so happy and proud that she dared to sing this quite tricky part and added some background vocals, too. Another great project with John, a lot of fun and discussions about refugees, chords, christmas, videos, daughters .... Thanks John for this. Please visit John's Fanda page under: http://www.fandalism.com/allomerus John Wegner: vocals, guitar, iElectribe, Sitarsynthguitar, video magic Kaiboard: Audio production, Keys and all other stuff Pauline Liebert: vocals ----- Chorus: Throw me into the desert Throw me into the sea Throw me behind sterile fences Throw me away Verses: You have endless problems, makings of your own Like when it’s best to charge your phone Which wine with veal, which stocks to deal Which ring will suit this precious stone We are invisible, yet there on every dusty street We are stones to tread on, beneath your feet You stare directly at our plight, but your eyes have no sight A third world problem not worth a tweet Desperately fleeing certain genocide Bobbing at the mercy of the treacherous tide Across the sea we skulk on untrustworthy hulks We are mere pests to brush aside Bridge I see the fire in the sky ! see metal birds racing by I flee across water endlessly deep water The waves are mountains of the sea Smashing my boat into debris Crashing around me Dragging me pounding me Away Go away go away Take me away away away Verse: Securely protected from enemy fire Recklessly clawing at barbed prison wire For a single chance to finally enhance Our one and only true desire ----------------- As usual, all rights for what you are about to hear remain with their respective copyright holders. Analogue Jam Having some fun with two analogue monsters (DSI Pro 2 and GRP A4) - and John Wegner. It's some time ago I posted here some stuff. I am currently working on a project with John Wegner. But we are a little bit slow, especially as I am quite/too busy with my job at the moment. So John just sent me some guitar lines und proposed something which sounded like 'Don't worry, do a jam'. So I did. As I recently acquired a nice piece of synthesizer artwork (the Pro 2), I used this and the mighty GRP A4. So just two monophonic (mostly) analogue synthesizers and an analogue Doepfer DarkTime Sequencer, that's all. And John's guitar lines, of cause started from a sampler. From these lines as a launch pad I started a veeeeery long session, so I cut it down to a length still too long for the most of you to to stand it;-) But anyway I had fun and wanted this to share with you.

What's the matter - a Mini Rock Opera by John Wegner and Kaiboard feat. Lori Oz and Paul Wegner. Everything began some months ago with a comment of John proposing I should do a piece about dark matter. I liked the idea and proposed that we do it together. Our intention was to create some kind of instrumental space music around the mysterious material which bonds our universe, but nobody has ever seen or detected. But then the piece went its own way, it just developed itself in a complete different direction. Paul and I were often surprised what happened during the 'inflation phase' of the piece ;-) So it was not just a collaboration it was a pure co-creation. Then John came up with the beautiful lyrics and it was clear that this piece was a dialogue between light and dark matter, good and bad, guitar and keyboards ... If we approached Lori whether she wanted to join, and she agreed, we both were so happy (and astonished), because this type of music was so different what she did in her musical life until then. And then the sun rose, when Lori's vocals and appearance ('Space Queen') brought this piece to shine. Paul, master on the drums, sets the sparkling effects holding the whole piece together. John took over the task to visualize the music and what he did just blow me away. With so much effort and his mastery he created a magical video. I like to wholeheartly thank Lori, Paul and especially my mate John for this unique musical experience. I hope you like it, too. ...and use some headphones or a proper stereo device as this piece contains some pretty deep frequencies! Lyrics: ======= I am the Show Master I’m your Phoenix Prima donna display I rose from the ashes Brilliant in every way Spectacular I’m the show There’s nothing else to see All consuming I’m the show All you’ll ever need is me I’m your nova Your radiant bouquet You can’t ignore me I write the screenplay Spectacular I’m the show Explanations Guaranteed Dramatic I’m the show All you’ll ever need is me You thought you had the final theory You thought you understood it all Something doesn’t make sense Seems you've hit another wall Intellectual neanderthals I am working behind the scenes You are my little plaything I am the master of the stage I am controlling everything I am pulling the strings Is there someone there? Hello, is there someone there? Not in my screenplay! Gravitational Waves - a musical story about the cosmic ripples in the curvature of space-time. Played live by Kaiboard (all Keys) and featuring Brice Cross on 'offline' guitar. In March 2014 the BICEP2-Project (Background Imaging of Cosmic Extragalactic Polarization - located on the south pole) announced that they detected gravitational waves of the very, very early universe. This was no more than the prove of the inflation theory of our universe nano-seconds after the Big Bang. One of the top astronomical findings of all times. Even as there are doubts in the meantime about the accuracy of the data, I was fascinated by these gravitational waves. While researching a little bit I found a webpage with simulations and audio examples how these gravitational waves - caused by the merger of two black holes - could look and sound like in detectors on earth. This was the foundation for the piece: an accelerating sequence programmed with the GRP A4 synthesizer. As all Coat of Kazakhstan Productions the piece is played live in one track. But this time I asked Brice Cross whether he could play some guitar lines (inspired by Gustav Holst's Planets suite). He did and I loaded the lines in my sampler and triggered them while playing the rest of the stuff. Thanks for doing that Brice!! Lots of sequences here, using the GRP, the Doepfer Dark Time and the Arturia Moog Modular V, and of course many, many VSTs on the Brainspawn Forte host. Have fun! 'Play me' cried my Grand Piano as I hadn't too much time the last days. So I did and just let the music flow having a few pictures of 'water' in mind. Since two years or so I took pictures of water all over the world as I wanted to make some music around this theme. ISON - the not so lucky traveller. An homage to the designated comet of the century which unfortunately came to close to the sun and just dissolved like a firebird. As all 'Coat of Kazakhstan productions' recorded live in one track. There are three original spacecraft recordings in this piece. On the very beginning it's a recording of electromagnetic fields/particles of Jupiter (ISON was around there) and the very end is the 'sound' of the sun (ISON dissolved there). Both were recorded by the Voyager spacecrafts. The third is a recording of the spacecraft Stardust-Next which flew through the tail of the comet Tempel and recorded ice and dust particles smashing on its protection shield. This sound was launched manually on an iPad and processed using the mighty GRP A4 synthesizer, which also produced the driving deep bass patterns. The other sounds were produced using the Roland JD800 and many, many VST plugins, played by all available hands and feet ;-) Videos are by www.nasa.gov resp. other sources using NASA resources.

Circle of Life - A 10 Billion Years Journey in 7 Minutes It started with a book I read about the Big Bang and how stars are born and die. As we all consist of atoms which have been created and blown in the universe by supernovas I made my minds about a musical journey which tells the story from a supernova far away as one source for the creation of a new star, the creation of a new start, of a new planet, of new life and intelligent lifeforms (which some people think we are, hope they are right) until the star dies and the circle starts again. This all takes around 10 billion years, so quite a lot time to be captured in a few minutes of music ;-). 'Leben' - as we celebrate the Geman Unification Day today, I think it's appropriate to upload a song with German lyrics ;-). Leben - Life - tells a story from the dark side of being alone, living in a cold city, being serious and adult to the bright side of having friends, being childish and live close to nature. Recorded with my good friends Robert Gebhardt (git), Harry Schmidt (bass), Chris Knittel (dr) and Alex Huhn (voc). As I needed some support for the choir I engaged my wife Higi and my daughter Pauline with her friend Selina (both with a short solo spot at the end), too. Viel Spass beim Hoeren meine lieben Fandalism-Freunde!

Piano Miniature No.3 - A rainy day in Summer 2013 Another day full of rain in Germany in Summer 2013. But this time, instead of getting depressed again, I recorded this little piece to praise nature for the beautiful day. Have fun!

Piano Miniature No.2 - One Day in a Bee's World Springtime means party time for our bees. This little piece accompanies musically a bee flying from flower to flower in our garden. And I am pretty sure that even the most busy bee sometimes takes a little time off and admires the unique beauty of nature after a long winter ;-)

Lovesong (for Higi). Some time ago in a hotel on a business trip I dreamt that I walked through Kopenhagen (I was somewhere in Bavaria) with a guitar on my hands (I play Keyboards) and singing (I can't sing) this song. So it was really a dream ;-) Fortunately there was a notebook on the side desk and - more sleeping than awake - I wrote down the story and the hookline. Later I recorded the song with some friends (Robert Gebhard - lead voc, g; Chris Knittel - dr, voc; Harald Schmid - b) and dedicated it to my beloved wife Higi. And she is luckily not a dream. Hope you like it.

Child of Violence of my former Band Stranger. I was asked by a fandalism fellow about my dark legacy as Hard Rock/Metal Keyboard Player (Hi Mark). I wrote this song with my band mates in the mid 80ies and was surprised to find out that more than 20 years later a (to me unknown) YouTube user made a movie around this song. it's really nice. Lots of keyboards in this song, e.g. PPG Wave 2.2, Oberheim Matrix 6, Yamaha DX7II, Korg M1, AKAI S950 - all these beautiful innovative synths of these times.

Piano Miniature No.1 - Springtime: Munich, March 24th, 2013: snow, snow, snow. To overcome my winter depression I just sat on my piano and recorded this little piece. As a prayer towards the good spirits of springtime, so that they finally kick out the winter demons which still cache all the colors outside. As an inspiration for the springtime fairies I inserted some pictures how our garden looked like last year - and hopefully will look like soon again. Have fun!

Van Allen Echoes This piece was inspired by sounds which were created by atmospheric lightning discharges and their interaction with the Van Allen Radiation Belt. These sounds* have been detected and recorded by the University of Iowa (http://www-pw.physics.uiowa.edu). I further processed the sounds using the GRP A4 synthesizer and than augmented them with a 'spacy' piece of music. As always recorded live in one track and using the famous coat from Kazakhstan. Why does the piece last 8 minutes - it's the time particles need from sun to earth and reach the Van Allen Radiation Belt - we can see them as polar lights. The video snippets are taken from the NASA homepage (www.nasa.gov). *The Van Allen Probes EMFISIS Waves instruments detected these signals with two orthogonal magnetic antennas (Bv and Bu) during UTC hour 18 of September 11, 2012. The predominant feature is a barrage of whistlers which originate with lightning discharges on Earth. These signals propogate along magnetic field lines through the thin ionized gasses of space which allow the higher frequencies to travel faster than the lower frequencies. This results in a frequency dispersion and the characteristic whistling tone, which also sounds a little like science-fiction movie sound effects.

The Ugly and the Beast - a Mini Drama in 3:10 minutes. This piece reflects my visit in China some time ago. With all its ambiguity like hi-speed living, ancient history and culture, beautiful places and pollution, capitalism and censorship etc. Why just 3:10 minutes? It's the average time people watched my videos on YouTube - so why wasting time and music;-)

Dark Lake - music inspired by a bavarian Moor Lake This time with some pictures of the lake which was the source of inspiration for this piece - better than just watching the strange guy at his keyboards ;-) The beautiful Moor Lake in located in Northern Bavaria (Fichtelsee). The dark brown water appears nearly black and creates a mystic atmosphere which I tried to capture with this piece. Just have a look at the pictures. As always recorded live in one track using the following tools: GRP A4 Synthesizer, Doepfer Dark Time and Roland JD800 (Sequence) G-Force M-Tron (Flute), Spectrasonics Atmosphere (Strings and 'Holst - The Planets-Theme'), Steinberg HalionSonic (Guitar) - and the famous coat from Kazakhstan!

Winter Darkness - Inspired by a walk through a very dark, very cold and crystal clear night - and some strange noises. Sounds by GRP A4 (full analog), Spectrasonics Omnisphere, Vienna Grand (VST), Korg Triton, Roland JD 800 (both Digital Synths) and Space Wiz (iPad App). And not to forget - the famous coat from Kazakhstan ;-)

Morte et Dabo, Another session featuring the mighty GRP A4 and the famous coat from Kazakhstan ;-) This time inspired by (and named after) a patch of the Spectrasonics Omnisphere Synth. Sequences are done using the GRP A4 and a Doepfer Dark Time with a Roland JD 800 and a Korg Wavestation VST. The Leadsound is provided by Arturias Minimoog, the strings by G-Force M-Tron and another Omnisphere. The organ is a GSI VB3. All VSTs are running on Brainspwn Forte 3, VST-Host. The groove pattern is created by a Korg Triton. Ambient Sounds are by Omnisphere and HalionSonic. Noises are produced using the modulation capabilities of the GRP (Filter Modulations by VCO and LFO and S&H, 24db LP and 12db HP). Have Fun!

WakeFake - inspired by Rick Wakeman, a moogish GRP A4 and a coat from Kazakhstan Playing around with the fabulous GRP Synth with some moogish settings, I remembered an old piece of Rick Wakeman from the Yessongs album. Step by step I reconstructed that piece within my own capabilities. (In fact Rick is greater than I am--so much greater that I'm not even worthy to be his slave and untie the straps of his sandals, of course. But my coat is cooler than his cape!) Then I spotted a traditional chief coat from Kazakhstan, that my father got during a trip to this country in Central Asia. This outfit works perfectly with that song ;-) Gear used: VSTs: Steinberg The Grand; Spectrasonic Omnisphere and Atmosphere - M-Tron thickener; NI B4; G-Force M-Tron - Mellotron Strings and Choir, Steinberg HalionSonic - M-tron thickener iPad App: Animoog - glide sound in the middle Hardware: GRP A4 Analog Synthesizer - lead and bass sound (a pity that the fat bass sound couldn't be captured by the Camcorder) Keyboards (did not use sound engines): Korg Triton LE 88, Roland D 50 and a cheap Roland Midi-Keyboard As I wanted to play the whole piece in one track, I discovered the challenges Rick must have had in the 70s with no Midi or possibilities to store sounds - and tuning the analog devices. Being a long lasting fan of Rick Wakeman, this experience took him several steps higher in my admiration again! So it was tricky, and so it took some time to record - just watch the outtakes at the end and have fun! PS Still using a cheap camcorder. Maybe I get some time over christmas, then I try to improve the quality of video, audio and performance, and maybe record it again

Caution, this is not a song and therefore for Synth-Nerds only;-) Hey what a fun, exploring the modulation capabilities of the GRP A4. First of all, sorry for the 'progressive' camera perspective as I had to be both - camera and synth operator ;-) If you are interested to see more, just give me a hint and I will ask my wife to do the camera stuff. The LFO1 is selected as clock source for the step sequencer. The sequencer steps control CV of the LFO 1 frequency. The result is that the speed of the sequencer changes depending on the CV sent to the LFO1. Then I put both rows as source and switched on step of Row B off. The result is an changing pattern. Using different step modes it becomes more complex. Then the 24db filter is modulated by a pulse waveform of LFO 2 and the 12db filter is modulated by S&H (with its own clock). Another dimension of rhythmic pattern in the sound. Then I added the Doepfer Dark Time, controlled via CV of the GRP triggering a Roland JD800. Then I changed the clock divider for the GRP and finally extended the range of the steps of the sequencer (x8) - and brought the system (especially the Doepfer) to an extreme state. Imagine, that you can use this setting also to modulate S&H, Auto Pan, PW, and and and ... So there is room for many hours of exploring this fantastic machine.
