Started playing guitar in 1975, My mom bought me an Andres Segovia album and that was all I needed to know that guitar was what I wanted to do.
What was the first concert you ever went to?
My 1st concert was in 1976. Bad Company & The Climax Blues Band. I remember very clearly leaving the arena and getting my foot run over by a car!!
What gear do you use?
Acoustics, All Ibanez, 2 steel string and 1 nylon. Electrics, Ibanez Joe Satriani model and a 1986 Fender Strat. They're all my favorites depending on what I'm playing. Maybe Ibanez should give me an endorsement??
Who was your biggest musical influence growing up?
Chet Atkins and Steve Howe from Yes, I heard Roundabout and was blown away. Michael Hedges after that and finally Tommy Emmanuel and Phil Keaggy. In my opinion the two best guitarists on the planet
Are you in a band? Have you been in bands?
Too many bands to keep track of. Played most of the time in the North East of the USA. Did some gigs in Russia and will be playing some in France soon. Too many problems and personalities with bands. In 2005 dedicated myself to solo fingerstyle acoustic guitar and haven't looked back since.
If you could jam with anyone, who would it be?
Tommy Emmanuel (again). How could anyone not want to sit and play with the Master?
What's the biggest audience you ever performed to? What's the smallest?
Biggest audience was a few thousand at a Diamond Rio show in the late 1990's. The smallest a room full of tables and chairs more times than I care to recall.
You're stuck on a desert island and only get to bring one album with you. What do you pick?
Tommy Emmanuel Centerstage. There's enough music on this to last several lifetimes.
