Jeff Davis - Guitar
How long have you been playing?
Too long to quit now.
What was the first concert you ever went to?
Kiss, The Capital Center in D.C... I Had never saw a show ,other than the circus in a place so huge. 1977 I think.. The Kiss Alive 2 tour. Went with my first band.. The Drummer: Brian Blumberg. R.I.P. My friend.. And another guitar player: Paul Lamantia,,Also still playing and his band "Walk in's welcome" are fantastic.Brian's fantastic and supportive parents, and myself. It was the most awesome thing I had ever seen in my entire life.. I've attended 100's of concerts,show's,event's.. Many many unbelievable show's, but nothing compared to that 1st show, and a monster of a show it was. I will never forget the feeling of a roaring Mega center like the Capital center was... R.I.P. also. It was epic.
What gear do you use?
My favorite guitar to play is a 7 string..I play an ESP LTD 7 string and it is my fav @ the moment... I like a nice 6 string nylon classical.. EVERY one gives me different ideas, so I try to get my hands on as many different guitars as possible when it comes to studio time.. Although these first videos are all electric acoustic. Don't worry I can shred on electric, and those videos will be coming out soon, Just wanted to give everyone a lil' taste of the acoustic first. I plan on making them more and more intense an I upload..My favorite guitar of all time is a Les Paul... Nothing like it to me .... Hoping to get a custom 7 string Les Paul one day... We shall see.
What are you looking for from Fandalism?
A big friendly community of musicians of all ages, instruments, sex, style, genre, doing whatever it is that they are gifted to do. With everyone else who enjoys the same thing. This is a wonderful place where musicians from all over the world get to play for each other and enjoy each others music as well. It has inspired me greatly to create more and more music every day now..So much overwhelming talent here, it's mind boggling.
I would just be psyched to see my friends each day, and discover new ones as well. Like I try to do... When I would normally have turned on the TV.. I now go to Fandalism Way big fun here for me here folks ; )

Who was your biggest musical influence growing up?
My earliest influences were the Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Yes,Led Zeppelin,Kiss,.. Later I became more interested in Eddie Van Halen, and on my 21st birthday I got to meet my hero Yngwie Malmsteen. BEST BIRTHDAY EVER!,
Now a days I like Steve Vai probably the most, but their are sooo many great players out there now to choose from, it's really hard to say who is the best.
In my book, their are no bests',... Just tons of great players.... Write that down.

Are you in a band? Have you been in bands?
Currently have a band called Flint Zipper ( my baby ), which is an all original band that I write most of the music for and LOVE every minute we get to play!!!
Have recently joined a 60's-70's cover band called MIX which is tons of fun. I do film work with Donut Guy Productions as an actor and trying to get my music into films at the same time,...Write music for tv, and currently have a few videos still in the can that will soon be released... I do guitar work for local musicians, and local studios. I am currently working on a cd with my good friend and co-writer for "58 Steps" Darrin Frison... Electronica meets rock-n-roll... Very,Very cool so far, This man is a genious in the studio and I'm sure this cd will be a bit different that what's out there to choose from at the moment... At least that's what we're shooting for... Will update as more news comes in..YF, Jeff

If you could jam with anyone, who would it be?
Steve Vai hands down.. He has been my biggest influence over the past several years...+ All of my new friends on Fandalism!!! I absolutely LOVE THIS SITE!!!... I am meeting some of the best players I have ever heard... Thanks Pud, for building this site!... You are the Man!..
If I had the chance to go back in time and play with anyone, it would have to be Nicolo Paganini or Motzart, but sadly my wayback machine is out of order.

What's the biggest audience you ever performed to? What's the smallest?
2500+ would probably be the largest croud... 1 would be the smallest. My most memorable performance would have to be...... uhh... let's see...Got it!, The Westin in L.A. 2005 @ the TAXI convention. got to play twice in one night on stage with one of my co-writers Darrin Frison, ( who happens to be the man who did these first videos ), WE did a song, that is soon to be re-released soon called 'Brother", We got a standing ovation, Then I did one by myself, played and sang, got another standing ovation... Nothing like being 3000 miles away from home and people like what you do.. That would have to be the best performance night, That I can think of at the moment. ; )
You're stuck on a desert island and only get to bring one album with you. What do you pick?
Steve Vai- Passion and warfare, It's one of my favorite albums of all time.. There are so many to choose from. I heard it when it first came out, and that inspired me to play a 7 string guitar... Well, many years later, when other companies came out with their brand of 7 strings, I could finally afford one and have LOVED playing one ever since.
I would have to say I like this album most of all, because it has so many different flavors to it. STEVE VAI put his heart into it, and it shows... The only one I can think of that I wouldn't wear out. Given the fact that I would have an outlet to plug into... May be a bit hard to find
