How long have you been playing?
A long time. Started the keys at 6. The teacher hit me with a ruler for playing by "Ear" - so I decided to climb trees, play baseball and learn the guitar..
What was the first concert you ever went to?
The Tami Show in the late sixties. The Beach Boys were the headliner - Chuck Berry rocked the place and an unknown Jimmy Hendricks played backup on an upside down left handed strat. Then a new groups from England mad their first kirtsy... about # 10 on the lineup. Some skinny scraggly boys called the Rolling Stones...
What gear do you use?
Oh and Epiphone Master Built AJ-500 Acoustic. A Fender American Deluxe Tele and a PRS Simi-Hollowbody SE Custom. a Fender Jazz Bass and we prefer Pyramid Strings on all. Just something about hand wound German stuff...
... A Fender Deville Blues amp with 4- tens.. A Line 6 - Lo Down Bass amp. We also run guitars and mics through a PreSonus Studio Channel Compressor and a Blue Tube box.
A Yamaha Mo 8 does quite nicely for the keyboards.. and a Tascam 2488 stand alone handles most of our recording requirements. We also do additional editing with PreSonus Studio One software.
....and when it comes to microphones we prefer condenser mics. Audio-technica makes some outstanding microphones including the handheld AT T2010 which great for studio or live. We also have an AT4040 and a AKG C214 which are wonderful on vocals, guitars and other sting and horn insterments.
