Seawall Boulevard - A song about my favorite street in Galveston, Seawall Boulevard. Life travels in many ways. The night I married my bride a truck and a car loaded with dudes tried to pin our parked car in. I saw what was happening and pulled away before the truck in front of us could back up and pin us in. Close call. We were in my friend's convertible. They must have thought we were rich. LOL

(I Love You On) Days That End In Y - Inspired by a statuette my daughter gave me that had "I love you on days that end in y" written on it. I was sitting with my guitar in my lap in an office on Music Row in Nashville and pulled the statuette out of my guitar case and was triggered to write. Recording very old 1980. The lyric is from my heart and soul.

"(Now to Me Love's A ) Four Letter Word" JD Richards Waking up without you is the first hard thing I do. Mornings don't get better but somehow I see it through To an afternoon of silence. It's not golden like I heard. Now to me love's a four letter word. I act like you're dead but I know you're only gone. It's easier pretending. I ffel a little less alone, You make me live without you. You treat me like a curse. Now to me loves a four letter word. Bridge: Well, I've had my share of heartbreak. Scars that never heal. I learned the ahrd way a broken heart can kill. Living with or without you, I don't know which is worse. Now to me love's a four letter word. I spend my nights alone sleeping by myself. After all you took from me, girl, there's really nothing left. I watch myself get older. Living in reverse. Now to me love's a four letter word. Bridge: Well, I've had my share of heartbreak. Scars that never heal. I learned the ahrd way a broken heart can kill. Living with or without you, Idon't know which is worse. Now to me love's a four letter word. Driftwood JD Richards Intro Turn-around: I am lying by the ocean Watching stars fall from the sky. I've been floating a little too long While time drifts slowly by. Chorus: I am driftwood. Somebody love me. I need somebody to call my name. I am driftwood. Whose making me lonely. I know it's not you, Lord, So who can I blame. As you get older your heart grows colder. If you live your life alone. And it's a sad thing to feel unwanted With no one to miss you when you're gone. Chorus: I am driftwood. Somebody love me. I need somebody to call my name. I am driftwood. Whose making me lonely. I know it's not you, Lord, So who can I blame. Instrumental Break: I am crying. Somebody hear me. Somebody hold me and dry my eyes. I've been waiting for somebody special But I'm running out of time. Chorus: I am driftwood. Somebody love me. I need somebody to call my name. I am driftwood. Whose making me lonely. The Gulf Is Crying - Written immediately after the catastrophic BP Oil Spill. I was overwhelmed with anger at the executive and his detached comments. BP launched a wave of greed that washed over the hard working men and women all around the "Gulf". In the fiscal report for the year BP did not count the spillage in the "Gulf". They praised themselves for a banner year!
