This is my cover of "Smile", a song based on an instrumental theme used in the soundtrack for the 1936 Charlie Chaplin movie Modern Times. Chaplin composed the D minor music, while John Turner and Geoffrey Parsons added the lyrics and title in 1954. "Smile" has become a popular standard since its original use in Chaplin's film. Nat King Cole recorded the song in 1969 ; it has been covered by numerous artists, such as Judy Garland, Dalida, Diana Ross and Michael Jackson in 1995. I used excerpts from the movie « Modern Times » to illustrate the song. NO COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT INTENDED. FAIR USE ONLY. LYRICS: Smile though your heart is aching Smile even though it's breaking When there are clouds in the sky, you'll get by If you smile through your fear and sorrow Smile and maybe tomorrow You'll see the sun come shining through for you Light up your face with gladness Hide every trace of sadness Although a tear may be ever so near That's the time you must keep on trying Smile, what's the use of crying? You'll find that life is still worthwhile If you just smile INSTRUMENTAL That's the time you must keep on trying Smile, what's the use of crying? You'll find that life is still worthwhile If you just smile

The Monkey and the Engineer Jesse Fuller cover Once upon a time there was an engineer. Drove a locomotive both far and near. Accompanied by a monkey that would sit on a stool Watching everything the engineer would do One day the engineer wanted a bite to eat, He left the monkey sitting on the driver's seat, The monkey pulled the throttle, the locomotive jumped the gun And did 80 miles an hour down the mainline run. Big locomotive right on time, big locomotive coming down the line. Big locomotive no. 99, left the engineer with a worried mind. The engineer called up the dispatcher on the phone, To tell him all about his locomotive was gone. Dispatcher got on the wire, switch operator to the right, Cause the monkey's got the main line sewed up tight. The switch operator got the message on time, Said there's a northbound limited on the same main line, Open up the switch I'm gonna let him through the hole, Cause the monkey's got the locomotive under control. Big locomotive right on time, big locomotive coming down the line. Big locomotive no. 99, left the engineer with a worried mind.

A Salty Dog is the third studio album by English band Procol Harum, released in June 1969. Having an ostensibly nautical theme, as indicated by its cover (a pastiche of the famous Player's Navy Cut cigarette pack), interspersed with straight rock, blues and pop items A Salty Dog showed a slight change of direction from its predecessors, being thematically less obscure. The title track itself was the first Procol track to use an orchestra. Here is a cover of that song featuring The Surgeon of Music Doc ProTool on Keyboards and Bass and yours truly on the Mic, I hope you will like and as always Peace and Love for stopping by!! =M=
