How long have you been playing?
I used to write poetry and sing Bon Jovi songs very poorly in the shower, when Bang Mango Cools started Audio Hangover at my high School, I felt it was my calling- a way to express all my mixed up feelings and put melodies to my poetry. The out of tune piano my mum bought me was next- my first songs were composed on this and then in my late teens mum bought me an acoustic guitar- the rest is history.
What was the first concert you ever went to?
Bruce Springsteen's 'Born in the USA' tour with the E Street band. They were something else. I was spellbound. I cried.
What gear do you use?
fender Strat into a Messa Boogie
What are you looking for from Fandalism?
a group of humans that were passionate and motivated towards playing and living music. I'd love to make a world wide network of friends who genuinely loved original music and were into supporting it on a grass roots level.
Who was your biggest musical influence growing up?
My biggest musical influences growing up were my brother, my cousin Richard and my other older cousins on both sides. They introduced me to everything from The Police, to the Sex Pistols, Pink Floyd, Cold Chisel, Jimmy Barnes, INXS, the divinyls, Blondie, Duran Duran, J Geils Band, kiss, iron maiden, judas priest, bon jovi, Led Zeppelin, AC-DC, Rick Springfield, Skyhooks, Australian Crawl, soft cell, tears for fears, the smiths, the cure, boy george, cyndi lauper, elton john, franky goes to hollywood, Prince, billy joel, michael jackson, bruce springsteen, queen, and one of the biggest of course was Bowie. (my hair cuts changed accordingly) I also remember Dean Candy introducing me to the doors on an old cassette. No body i knew had ever heard of the doors. I thought i'd discovered something truly remarkable and unique. I'll never forget my surprise when i went into Brasha's to buy my first doors album and Jim was on the cover, he looked nothing like i expected. I'd pictured him a much older bluesman. My mum and dad influenced my taste as well with their collection which included the bee gees, the beatles, John Lennon and the plastic ono band, Paul Mccartney and wings, elvis presley, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison, Bob Dylan, meatloaf, the eagles, dire straights, ELO, Eric Clapton, The Rolling Stones, The kinks, The easybeats, The Isley Brothers, The Pointer Sisters, Dianna Ross and the Supremes, Marvin Gaye, Creedence Clearwater Revival and Daddy Cool. It was my Nan of course who influenced me with the crooners -Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Nat King Cole, Johnny Mathis and old Sachmo himself, Louis Armstrong.
Are you in a band? Have you been in bands?
Yes. Andy Jans-Brown & COZMIC. I feel so blessed to play with musicians of such high standard as those I play with and those I have had the good fortune of playing with. Including Alex Mcleod, Dave Tweedie, Carl Alwert, Luke Ferguson, Shay Henderson, Cassie Rose, Harry Nichols, Sarah Grant, Lisa Hunt, Simon Seven, Connor Fitzgerald, Jacob Mann, Dylan Curnow, Tomme Balukea, Paul Coyle, Sonia Leeson, Matt Smith, Mark Mulder, Adam Dobres, Antoine Pussebutton, Romain Simeray, Pascal Bouterin, Anton, Brett Kempnich, Moira Mckenzie, Jesse Moore, Johnny Ganga, Adrien Siboulet (SiB), Tyrone Noonan, Dan Hazard, Craig Johnson, Warren Trout, Nick Tipping, Matt Lilley, Nate Weger, Bang Mango Cools, Matt Dyktinski, Alain Yalma Maurin, Laurent Jolly and Steve Cummins and many others whilst studying at Southern Cross Uni. It's the greatest joy of my life. Music is the highest high!
If you could jam with anyone, who would it be?
Stevie Wonder, Miles Davis, Clyde Stubblefield, Bootsy Collins, Sting, Serge Gainsbourg and Michael Jackson.
Bugger it! i'd have a jam with the lot of them and why not throw in the whole band of Radiohead, Chic Corea, Louis Armstrong, David Gilmore, Eric Clapton and Prince while we're at it. (Oh and Stewart Copeland- why not if it's not asking too much?)
Janis Joplin, Aretha Franklin, Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison, David Bowie, Freddie Mercury, Jim Morrison, Bruce Springsteen, James Brown and Pavarotti could join us on vocals and George Clinton for the party. :)

What's the biggest audience you ever performed to? What's the smallest?
6,000 people at the Hordern Pavillion in Sydney fronting my previous band 'iris' alongside bandmates Adrien Siboulet (SiB) Warren Trout, Nick Tipping and Steve Cummins opening for Nick Cave and the bad seeds. Nick Cave asked me afterwards, "how was it?"
"Overwhelming!" I replied. It was our first big stage gig and the onstage sound was absolutely alienating. Boy did we learn a thing or two that night.

You're stuck on a desert island and only get to bring one album with you. What do you pick?
impossible to choose! on any given day, my choice would be different. Today i might say, kings of convenience- riot on an empty street, tomorrow might be LA Woman by the doors, Abbey Road by the beatles, Some Girls by the Rolling Stones, Honkey Dory- David Bowie, Led Zeppelin IV, Back in Black AC-DC, A night at the opera- Queen, Yellow brick road- Elton John, Hotel California- The Eagles, Two against nature- Steely Dan, Grace- Jeff Buckley, Blonde on Blonde - Bob Dylan, Blood Money - Tom Waits, I'm your man - Leonard Cohen, Bat out of Hell- Meatloaf, Born to Run- Bruce Springsteen, Comes a time- Neil Young, Kind of Blue- Miles Davis, Songs in the key of life- Stevie Wonder, Off the wall- Michael Jackson, Blood sugar sex magik - red hot chilli peppers, mumma said- lenny kravitz, Greetings from LA- Tim Buckley, Fresh- Sly and the family stone, Graceland- Paul Simon. I mean give me a break!!! too hard to choose. i kind of despise these kinds of questions
