I've been playing the harmonica for approximately 18 years. I'm not a blues harmonica player and I'm very aware thanks. :)
What was the first concert you ever went to?
First ever Big concert I went to would have of been seeing The Beach Boys when I was 12 or 13. Most memorable thing would have been all of their female dancers on stage. The routine for California Girls about caused my little heart to explode with all of the beautiful um...costumes.
What gear do you use?
Hohner Special 20 Harmonicas. Fender Bues Pro Junior Amp. Audix Fireball Microphone. Custom High Impedence Crystal Ball Microphone. Whatever the sound guy wants me to try out.
Who was your biggest musical influence growing up?
Billy Joel. I heard "Summer Highland Fall" once and I was hooked.
Are you in a band? Have you been in bands?
I'm currently in a band called Zach McKinley and What's Left of Red" we're an Indie Rock Jam Band

If you could jam with anyone, who would it be?
Let's see I would love to jam with the Foo Fighters I have a ton of respect for Dave Grohl. John Popper and the rest of Blues Traveler just because his playing inspired me to take up the harp so many years ago (catching a harmonica at my first Blues Traveler concert didn't hurt either, it was like destiny). The Roots, do I really need a reason to want to play with one of the best bands on the planet?
What's the biggest audience you ever performed to? What's the smallest?
Played in front of over 3,000 people at a music festival in Montana years ago. Smallest would have been 0 unless you count people in a cemetary that are buried under ground. I close my eyes when I play anyway so every crowd feels about the same. Most memorable performance will always be the last performance.
You're stuck on a desert island and only get to bring one album with you. What do you pick?
I would bring NSYNC's "No Strings Attached" CD with me. Why? I need something to reflect the sun's light to passing freighter ships to get me off of the flipping Island!
