I took my first piano lesson in Feb. 1955, got my Bachelor of Music Degree in 1972, Been performing since I was 16. I never wanted to do anything else.
What was the first concert you ever went to?
Eddie Layton about 1962. My dad took me. He was a wizard on the Hammond and my first (of many) influences.
What gear do you use?
Hammond B-3 with 2 Leslies, Hammond A-100 with Leslie, Kurzweil PC2 Keyboard, and a collection of old gear worthy of a museum. Favorite piece? Not sure how to answer that, but my favorite song is Stardust partly because it was my Dad's favorite
Who was your biggest musical influence growing up?
Russ David. He was a great musician and became a mentor and very important influence in my life.
Are you in a band? Have you been in bands?
Had a band in high school. Worked for Johnny Polzin, Encore, The Better Half, Nettie & Eddie, First Class, and many others. Have played shows for many performers while in St. Louis. Also did a week with the St. Louis Symphony for "pops at Queeny Park"
If you could jam with anyone, who would it be?
Jimmy Buffett. Just for the fun of it.
What's the biggest audience you ever performed to? What's the smallest?
The Fox Theatre playing the "Mighty Wurlitzer" before 4000+ people and 4th of July with Russ David on Art hill in front of ? thousands. Smallest - a few people at home.
You're stuck on a desert island and only get to bring one album with you. What do you pick?
Have to think on that one. I'm sure it would be something almost nobody knows.
