How long have you been playing?
29 years. I started at school when I was 10 years old.
What was the first concert you ever went to?
Dire Straits. It was down the road. can't remember who I went with. It was the first major outdoor concert with a world renowned band, in the quiet place where we lived.
What gear do you use?
Marshall Mode 4 with Boss Eq in the fx loop, Keeley Compressor, Seymour Duncan Live Wire pickups. I mainly play a Jackson-PS1, Fender Squire & Avarez Acoustic.
My favourite piece is 'Prelude in C' by Bach.

Who was your biggest musical influence growing up?
AC/DC & Angus Young. Couldn't get enough of 'em. I'm Christian now, so some of their lyrics are off putting to me now, though the music's still the same. After AC/DC, I moved onto GnR and Metallica.
AC/DC was a good beginning level. I loved 'You shook me all night long', it was the world's best song to me at the time.

Are you in a band? Have you been in bands?
I haven't been in bands for 20 years now. My first band was 'The Lost Boys' playin 60's and Hard Rock when I was 15. It was named after a movie that our girlfriends were obsessed with. The next band was a college band formed for a battle of the bands there. can't remember what we called ourselves, but they were cool though, & they later renamed 'Carrion'. My last band was 'Funkenstein', when I was 18-19, We played 60's-90's Rock with funk overtones and Funkmetal.
If you could jam with anyone, who would it be?
Jason Becker. He's an excellent guitarist and was way beyond his years in ability & guitar pioneering; as was his counter part Marty Friedman. Jason's currently suffering from ALS but I haven't given up that he'll hopefully be up & walking about again.
What's the biggest audience you ever performed to? What's the smallest?
200+ at 'The Mayfair Tavern'. It could of been 300+. It was absolutely packed with an appreciative crowd, That was my most favourite gig.
The smallest gig I played at however only had 8 people. And that included the bar staff at 'The Dog House'; I played solo with a tape deck for backing.
Other great memories were playing live after an accident by a branch falling and smashing up my face.. People asked 'were you in a fight?', I replied 'yeah, with a tree!'

You're stuck on a desert island and only get to bring one album with you. What do you pick?
Jason Becker & Marty Friedman, Cacophony - Go Off! I bought it from a record bar when it was first released on vinyl. It looked like a good guitar album and when I played it, I was like Wow! They're amazing! and they look young somehow. When I played it to other people they also said Wow! They're amazing! and they look our age. Because they WERE our age; It didn't compute that these 2 guitarists had accumulated years of ability at such a young age.
