How long have you been playing?
Started on the old spanish banjo at 14. Great memories, two cassette recorders, multi tracking, learning note for note from my heroes, Lightnin, Jimmy Page, Carlos, Tom Verlaine oh and others of course
What was the first concert you ever went to?
I can't remember if it was John Martyn at Cardiff Uni in 1976 or ACDC same year. Although, Ive got a sneaking suspicion it was Cockney Rebel at the Capitol Theatre Cardiff in 1975
What gear do you use?
Gibson 339 vintage red. A 52 reissue Telecaster butterscotch and a Hot Rod Delux 40 watt Fender tube surf green. Nice set up I think. Occasional use of wah wah.
Who was your biggest musical influence growing up?
The blues and Carlos
Are you in a band? Have you been in bands?
Been in many bands, Kevin Pacemaker and the Tumours, Ron's Neighbours, The T Bones, Conspiracy, Kyoga, Sakhi, finally my current band 'The Grey Goose Blues Band'. My favourite I think. It's a band in which I play guitar, write songs and sing. I am happy now.
If you could jam with anyone, who would it be?
T Bone Walker and BB King. Simply the best.
What's the biggest audience you ever performed to? What's the smallest?
Biggest mm probably 300 maybe 400. There's been a few of this size gig from the Landrover social club, Bham, the Robin 2 Bilston, The Garage Arts Centre, Walsall. Smallest well between 10 and 12. various less than salubrious public houses in the Walsall area.
You're stuck on a desert island and only get to bring one album with you. What do you pick?
That's unfair. There's so many and they change. OK. Paul Robeson;s greatest hits. No I'm not kidding. He has the best voice ever recorded and he reminds me of my dear departed mother who loved him dearly.

Heartfelt song recalling childhood memories of a tragic mudslide which happened in 1966 in a school near mine when 116 children were taken by a mudslide from a coal waste tip. Deep blues, hint of Lightnin Hopkins and Led Zeppelin.
