How long have you been playing?
I've been playing piano since I was about four, guitar since I was twelve. Playing an instrument is a Nobert family tradition, and I've picked up many more instruments along the way, including mandolin, drums, trumpet, saxophone and most of the woodwind family. I am a music teacher in the daytime teaching junior/senior high band students.

What was the first concert you ever went to?
First big concert was KISS back in '76. Cheap Trick was the warm up band. I had a ringing in my ears for two weeks afterwards. Absolutely great show!
I've been to many great concerts over the years, including B.B. King, The Police ('83 and '07), The Pretenders, The Rolling Stones, Neil Young, Vince Gill, James Taylor, Chris Isaak, The Eagles, Billy Joel ('86 and '07), The Dixie Chicks, Foreigner, John Mellencamp, Carlos Del Junko, The Canadian Brass, Buckwheat Zydeco.
Would really like to see Harry Connick, Jr. someday. He's on my bucket list.

What gear do you use?
I have an affinity with Fender products, particularly my Fender Strat ('62 Vintage Re-issue Lake Placid Blue built in '86) and my Fender Princeton amp. Other iconic pieces include a Fender Rhodes piano, JX-8P synth, Korg N1 Keyboard (full 88 keys, 1700 sounds), an assortment of acoustic guitars by Yamaha, Washburn and Morris, and a Hobart M Cable upright piano in the dining room. And of course there's my homemade no-name bass and home-made one-of-a-kind Franken-Tele guitar.
What are you looking for from Fandalism?
I am looking for a way to discover talented people that are out there all over the world. The people who we might never hear about since they are not famous, but nonetheless have a lot of music inside them to share. I am looking to learn cool new stuff.
Who was your biggest musical influence growing up?
At first, it was my dad, since he plays guitar, piano, and accordion, and then soon after I discovered Elton John and the Beatles, who pretty much ruled my adolescent years. Learned a lot from those guys. It was after I quit piano lessons at age 9 that I really started learning how to play, mainly by ear. Other big early influencers: Chet Atkins, the Rolling Stones, the Eagles, Billy Joel all artists whose music I still like to play today. A special thank you to John Hohol who sold me my first guitar back in grade 7 and then a Jackson-style neck for it seven years later, which many years further on down the road has become my beloved Franken-Tele.
Are you in a band? Have you been in bands?
I've been in many bands through the years: Hard Wood with my cousins (before we knew how to play instruments but had a cool name), My Generation, The Generics, The Blue Collar Band, The Rusty Nuts, Extra Old Stock, The Poster Boys, Old Guys Rule, The Trade Winds, Big & Fearless, Time Warp 3.0 and my new solo venture Fearless Frank & Friends. Also many smaller duets and one-offs with no actual name, but lots of fun experiences. :)
If you could jam with anyone, who would it be?
Some of my favourites, like Mark Knopfler or Billy Joel, would be pretty amazing people to jam with. I am fortunate to be able to jam with amazing musicians many nights of the week in the Edmonton and Sherwood Park area as it stands, including the fine folks at JR's and Caffrey's. It is quite a cultural mecca, truth be told.
You're stuck on a desert island and only get to bring one album with you. What do you pick?
Can't do it. If I had to listen to only one album or artist the rest of my days I'd go nuts.

Rough cut of "Mexico", one of my favourite James Taylor songs. I know it's not perfect, but I created it to try to figure out the harmony parts for a band project I'm involved in. Hope you enjoy, amigo. ;)
