How long have you been playing?
I started playing music when I was 9 years old. It was 1988 when my father took me to Zatmans music near South St. in Philadelphia and got me my first bass. Then he taught me how to play the "Courageous Cat and Minute Mouse" theme song and "Rock Lobster", the rest is history.
What was the first concert you ever went to?
The first concert I went to was Dead Horse, Death Angel and Forbidden with my sister Julie. The show was cut short and we ended up at Taco Bell with Dead Horse just hanging out. They were my favorite band at the time and I still consider that one of my greatest rock and roll moments. They taught me the ol' hot sauce on the straw trick, which I still use to this day.
What gear do you use?
My babies include an Ibanez ArtWood series acoustic, a New York Pro Elite hollow body electric, and a set of Gretsch Renown57 drums to name a few. My electric, Blue Moonshine, is my favorite piece though. I have not found a guitar that is her equal...
Who was your biggest musical influence growing up?
The Kinks. My father was a huge Kinks fan and I have listened to them my whole life.
Are you in a band? Have you been in bands?
I have been performing live since i was 11 years old and have not stopped since. It all started with Negative Outlook, which was a really fun metal/punk band. Then there was Gerry and the Bastard Makers, The Buckeyed Forest Punks, and a million more. I played every chance I got. But their were a few that undoubtedly affected my growth as a musician. The first was called Slackers which was a power trio consisting of myself, Mark Antee (She's Still Dead) and Barry Barthelemy. This was my first taste of writing complete songs. We recorded a killer 8 song demo at world famous Knight Recording Studios. I should probably have Barry on my influences list, cause he's the guy that taught me how to build a song. Thanks B! The next significant group was Easy Way Out, which consisted of myself, Philip Yee, David Demarest (The Scorseses), and Christopher Richard (The Deadly Syndrome). This was a GREAT punk band, though very short lived. Phil and I were a songwriting force to be reckoned with, David was a fricken bass prodigy, and Chris' voice was flawless. Good times. David Demarest and I went on to play in a killer pop punk band with some of his buddies called Full Service with this awesome guitarist Jason Rodrigue and totally SICK drummer Trey Derbes (Heartsounds). I just got a copy of an old demo we did via Stewart Cararas. I listen to it often, thanks Stewart! Then came RF7 and the Hightones. This high energy nola/ska band originally formed by John Gallagher (The Medians) spanned 7 years and many, many members. But the all-star line up was myself, Mikey Dread, Eddie Morgan, Ted Ochoa, Darryl Berger, Eddie Perret, and John Venenata. RF7 and the Hightones opened up for acts like The Specials, Fishbone, The Skatalites, Dave Wakeling, Neville Staple, The Subdudes, Reel Big Fish, Cowboy Mouth, Laurel Aitken, Cyrille Neville, Rockin Doopsie, Less Than Jake, Chaka Khan, The Mystic Revealers, and so many more incredible acts. Since then, I have recorded with many skilled musicians such as bassist Matt Genovese, guitarist Nathan Manley, bassist Erik Baughan, singer/ songwriter Martin Sole, multi-instrumentalist Randal Sanden Jr. (saxmanran), Webb Spriggs (BRJ Productions), singer/songwriter Antonette Goroch (Super Natural), guitarist Adam Chinchilla, bassist Chris Dyess, drummer Eddie Perret, pianist Johnny Good, DJ Ghost and Bradley Harris. I'm currently playing in two bands in the SF bay area:
1) Disasters of the Past, a power trio with myself on vocals/guitar, super impressive bassist Matt Genovese, and ever-changing drummers. Disasters of the Pasts debut album 'Too Late to Panic', recorded at Light Rail Studios, will be released this year (2012) on Itunes, vinyl, and cd.
2) Manley Martian, a duo featuring myself on vocals/guitar, and the unique guitar stylings of Nathan Manley. Manley Martian is sad, melodic, original acoustic music. Manley Martians debut album "Tops" should be ready for release by February of 2013.

If you could jam with anyone, who would it be?
You.
What's the biggest audience you ever performed to? What's the smallest?
My most memorable performance has to be when RF7 and the Hightones opened up for the original lineup of The Specials at House of Blues, New Orleans. The place was just packed, and good vibes were flowing throughout. The idea of sharing a stage with such a mammoth act had me shaking in my boots, but the excitement was far more powerful.
You're stuck on a desert island and only get to bring one album with you. What do you pick?
