I've been playing drums for over 30 years. Guitar for about 20. Just since I've been here in San Antonio, have I been really getting into bass.
What was the first concert you ever went to?
Other than going to see my dad play, my first concert EVER was Huey Lewis and the MF NEWS. My parents took me because they are bad ass!!!
What gear do you use?
I'm not gonna list everything, but my Dad left to me his 1965 ish Rogers 5 piece. It still plays and I still play it. My white Ibanez Iceman never lets me down. And, I just picked up a Peavey classic 50 guitar head. It's like playing through a stick of butter!
Who was your biggest musical influence growing up?
I didn't have a strong fandom for music when I was young, So, my first true musical influences were my dad and his bands, and my drum teacher, Johnny Snider Jr. (Eddie Money.) I've been into so much music since then, it's hard to say.
Are you in a band? Have you been in bands?
All the bands I've been in have been rock and or metal. In California I was in OneTOOmany with my boys kevin O'Reilley and Steve Shaw. Keven has always been the Paul Stanley to my Gene Simmons. Here in San Antonio, I played bass in IMMERSED IN HATRED for about 2 1/2 years. I'd never delved into Death Metal before. Presently, I'm part of a few projects trying to get off the ground. I play bass in REVOLUTION TRIP. I'm playing drums with BENZO GRIN. AND, if I can find a drummer, I'm trying to put out my own music under the name CHANKLA.
If you could jam with anyone, who would it be?
If I could raise the dead, I'd love to have a couple and jam with Dimebag. Amoung the living, I would LOVE to do the same with Kirk Winstien. but before and above all of that, I really wish my dad could have lived long enough for us to jam and to hear the music I put out as an adult.
What's the biggest audience you ever performed to? What's the smallest?
The smallest is easy. I've played a good number of shows to nobody but the bar staff. My biggest showings were probably at Bonds 007,
