40 years since the age of 15 though I started playing drums at the age of 12.

But you know what they say about drummers, right?-)

I started out on guitar with my brother Mike and the neighbor kids, miming to The Beatles, playing plastic bats.

and after that, I never looked back.

(no need: the eyes in the back of my head do me just fine.)

THE FIRST CONCERT I EVER WENT TO - where i got high for the very first time! that is - was Jethro Tull in San Antonio (not that far from Austin where I attended uni).

I went with my friends J (a TullFan) and C and this other guy? I brought in the bourbon, since I was wearing my Army surplus trenchcoat.-)

And so, after trying to get high on pot about 6 times already and failing I finally "got it": cooool. Steeleye Span were on first, and then Tull came on; it was the War Child tour, and they put on a wonderful performance.

And for the first time, I really heard "Critique Oblique" from A Passion Play, and realized - THIS IS HEAVY METAL! - or close enough? And thus was I hooked into the Tull oeuvre!
