I began learning piano and trombone in the fourth grade, and learned drumming from my Dad and my band director. I started playing in clubs when I was in high school and college.
What was the first concert you ever went to?
I went to see The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band at the Multnomah County Fair when I was about 10 and The Buddy Miles Express at the Salem Armory when I was a sophomore in high school. .

Are you in a band? Have you been in bands?
I have been writing music for my main music project, Bon Ton Key Club the last few years, but played keyboards for The Control Boys, Backlash, and Small Wonder before I began my own solo project.
What's the biggest audience you ever performed to? What's the smallest?
Probably either the Salem Armory or the Starry Night in Portland, which later became the Roseland Theater. On another occasion, we played in Seattle for a major promoter and a large crowd, and had pleurisy, so I couldn't move at all or I couldn't breathe. It was the weirdest night in my life.
