Danny Fonfeder - Guitar
The Warehouse Song by Danny Fonfeder played on a Blueberry Jumbo guitar
Uploaded 1 year ago
What was the first concert you ever went to?
I saw Queen sometime around 1980 in Montreal when they were touring to support their album "The Game" they had airport runway lights on stage
What gear do you use?
Blueberry guitars, acoustic and electrics and classicals
Who was your biggest musical influence growing up?
The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Dire Straights, Supertramp,Aerosmith, the Beatles - I heard "Walk this Way" in my cousins car when I was 11 and the riff hooked me for life - he was a Queen fan, told me about them and I listened to their records over and over
Are you in a band? Have you been in bands?
I put bands together sometimes when I want to record my songs professionally, I was in a band in high school in Denver (Rocky Mountain Ruach)
What's the biggest audience you ever performed to? What's the smallest?
I usually play to small rooms at open mics, but sometimes they fill up - 10 to 100 people
You're stuck on a desert island and only get to bring one album with you. What do you pick?
The Wall, it is so textured and tells such a strong story and it's a double album so I'll take longer to get tired of it on the island

The Old Man's Dream - original song by Danny Fonfeder - Lyrics; The Old Man's Dream - original song by Danny Fonfeder
Lyrics:
The old man walks by the scene of a crime, he looks at the young man who is preparing to die, he sits at the curb but looks up at the sky and he says " is this all there is?"
The old man walks through his old neighborhood, he thinks about the past, the bad and the good, and he wonders if his whole life he had misunderstood, can this be all there is?
Can this be all there is?
Can this be all there is?
This is all there is and was and all there ever will be.
The old man he hears footsteps, the wolves are howling at the door.
He wonders how his whole life he believed in the three, before I was blind but now I can see. And looking in the mirror, what has happened to me?
This is all there is and was and all there ever will be.

Danny Fonfeder - Freedom Is Expensive - Original song, played on my Blueberry Guitar - here are the lyrics:
Freedom is expensive, if it's that or death, any cash you save, you'll regret, you'll regret. A beautiful disaster, since the day we met, anything she'd ask for, she would get, she would get.
Monday morning I woke up with the sweats, I made my way to the office, I dream of a way to get out of my debts and I sold my soul to the oblivious.
Tuesday morning I got up from my desk and I made my way to the bosses, I told them I need some time off for rest and they sharpened the nails for their crosses. Need to be free, need to be free.
Free to carve my life, free to carve my life, free to carve my life, if you take a piece of broken wood, you carve it out and make it good.
Carving out my life, carving out my life, carving out my life, if you take a diamond from the mine, you carve it out and make it shine.
Freedom is expensive, if it's that or death, any cash you save, you'll regret, you'll regret. A beautiful disaster, since the day we met, anything she'd ask for, she would get, she would get.
You've got to carve your life, you've got to carve your life, you've got to carve your life.

"Overseas" - original song by Danny Fonfeder
LYRICS: Lyrics :
Somewhere someplace overseas, there's a black haired princess, calling out to me.
Through the mist that is my dream, I can hear her calling, and shining down on me, somewhere overseas.
As I turn to greet her, she slowly moves away. And I wake to focus on the harshness of a brand new day. But the daylight turns to night and she'll be back again, and turning off my bedroom light, I know things will soon be right.
Somewhere someplace overseas, there's a red eyed demon, howling at the trees, somewhere overseas. Through the mist that is my dream, I can hear him screaming, he wants to sink his teeth in me, somewhere overseas.
As I try to run, I find my legs have turned to clay, and I wake to focus on the welcome of a brand new day.
But the daylight turns to night and he'll be back again, and turning off my bedroom light, god help me through the night.
Anything can happen, in the world of dreams, we go to sleep with laughter but wake up in screams. Anything can happen, no barriers at all, last night when I woke up, I was in the middle of a fall.
Somewhere someplace overseas, the princess and the demon, are howling at the trees, somewhere overseas. Through the mist that is my dream, I can hear them screaming, they want to sink their teeth in me, somewhere overseas. As I try to run I find my legs have turned to clay and I wake to focus on the welcome of a brand new day, but the daylight turns to night and they'll be back again, and turning off my bedroom light, god help me through the night.

Undress Me With Your Eyes original song by Danny Fonfeder (Blueberry Guitars)
LYRICS: Lyrics:
What is this I see before me, those who'd hate me now adore me, you who loved to criticize, undress me with your eyes.
I was so small you couldn't see me, now every guy would love to be me, no one cares about my size, undress me with your eyes.
Had no future, what a loser, no girl around would let me choose her, I bit down hard and started working, now everywhere cash is lurking.
It's lonely at the top they say, much better than the other way, all you slaves in suits and ties undress me with your eyes.
Undress me with your eyes.
The lawyers and financial planners work beneath my corporate banner, setting up the perfect shrine, where everything I want is mine.
I own a huge chunk of Nevada, and the biggest ranch in all Montana, Mr. Dow and Mrs. Jones have welcomed me into their homes.
Sometimes I wonder to myself, why did I build up all this wealth, there's nothing left for me to buy and nothing left to do but die.
So won't you bury me in splendor, in luxury return to sender, where all the angels in the skies undress me with their eyes.

The Revenge Song - This is my original song - here are the Lyrics:
When life was rough and my luck was bad
AND the cloths I wore, was everything I had
along came you
To tighten up the screws
But the ice did melt
And the winter thawd
And the pain you dealt was still feeling raw
I remember you, and what you tried to do
And I'm coming back
You won't have time to react. You won't know when I will attack -
You won't believe my second act
I've turned around and I'm coming back
Revenge is a dish that's best served cold, but this won't wait until I'm old
Next time you stab a man, make sure he's dead or he'll come back looking for your head
Na na, na nana na nana naaaaaaaa nana
Na na, na nana na nana naaaaaaaa na
Now your living well, you're gonna go through hell
I'm coming back for you
You don't have time to relax you dont know when your see my ax
No need to run, no time to pack
You can wait all day for the shoe to drop
But this won't end, I will never stop
next time you stab a man make sure he's dead or he'll come back looking for your head
Na na, na nana na nana naaaaaaaa nana
Na na, na nana na nana naaaaaaaa na
Now your living well, you're gonna go through hell
I'm coming back for you
When life was rough and my luck was bad
And all the cloths I wore, was everything I had
Well, I remember you
And what you tried to do
And I'm coming back for you

The Island Life - original song by Danny Fonfeder played on a Blueberry groove guitar
"The Island Life" is an original song by Danny Fonfeder
Lyrics:
I'm hitching a ride on a junk in the South China Sea
I'm lying on deck enjoying the cool summer breeze
The anchor is up, got my sunglasses on
The engine is revved and I'm drifting along
I'm hitching a ride on a junk on the South China sea
The girl on my left waited twenty seven years for peace
I'm closing my eyes to listen to the way she speaks
but to tell you the truth, you know I wish she was gone,
I've got my guitar and I'm playing a song
I'm hitching a ride on a junk on the South China seas
Oh no, Uh oh, a typhoon's starting to blow
Oh noooooo, typhoon's starting to blow
I had the whole Hong Kong at my feet
They'd even pray to me before they'd eat yeah
now I'm hitching a ride on a junk on the South China Sea
Well the Island life, thats the kind of life for me
I'd lie on a deck with the sun beating down on my feet
Forget all the winter, the sleet and the snow
I'm packing my bag, come on girl lets go now
I'm hitching a ride on a junk on the South China sea
I said the Island life, thats the kind of life for me
I'd lie on a deck with the sun beating down on my feet
Forget all the winter, the sleet and the snow
I'm packing my bag, come on girl lets go
I'm hitching a ride on a junk on the South China sea
I'm hitching a ride on a junk in the South China Sea
I'm lying on deck enjoying the cool summer breeze
The anchor is up, got my sunglasses on
The engine is revved we're moving along
I'm hitching a ride on a junk on the South China sea

The Way LIfe Is - about missing our friends and family - orignal Song by Danny Fonfeder - played on a Blueberry Guitar
Here are the lyrics:
The Way Life Is - an original song about missing your friends and family - by Danny Fonfeder
Lyrics:
If I was a younger man, I'd look up every friend I've ever known,
I'd try to meet you face to face, if not I'd get ya on the telephone.
I'd tell you that I missed you much, and sorry that I fell out of touch, I headed down that freeway all alone.
And if I was a dying man, I'd look up every girl I've ever known.
Try to meet ya face to face, if not I'd get you on the telephone.
Tell you that I missed you much and I'm sorry that I fell out of touch, I headed down that freeway all alone.
But isn't that the way life is, we're haunted by the ones we miss, they're living in our memory, become part of our history.
Through all the years of push and shove, we hate to hurt the ones we love, but isn't that the way life is, we long for everyone we've kissed.
If I was a child again, I'd cherish every toy I've ever had.
I'd brush my teeth every night, be nicer to my mom and dad.
They didn't stick around too long, I yearn for them but now they're gone, they headed out and now I'm all alone.
But isn't that the way life is, we're haunted by the ones we miss, they're living in our memory, become part of our history.
Through all the years of push and shove, we hate to hurt the ones we love, but isn't that the way life is, we long for everyone we've kissed.

"My Fear of Flying" is my original song
Here are the lyrics:
Am I the only one, left alive?
Am I the only one, with a fear of flying?
And can I be the only one, who can still hold you tonight?
And can I be the only one, who can make it through the flight?
And will I be a lucky one, to cross the finish line?
My fear of flying, my fear of flying, my fear of flying
The plane was losing altitude after the right engine exploded.
And I could hear it in the pilots voice, he didn't think that he could hold it.
And as the flight attendants lost their plastic grins, the passengers started panicking, the cabin smoke was billowing, and I put my head down and strapped myself in.
And as I headed for the icy water, I really missed my son and daughters, and prayed I'd be a lucky one, maybe the only one, to survive.
My fear of flying, I love my life, I want to survive.
As you pulled into the parking lot, you were wondering what all this noise was about. And as the ambulances started rushing by, a fiery flash went across the sky.
And as I headed for the icy waters, your mouth opened up in horror, you prayed I'd be a lucky one, maybe the only one, to survive.
I love my life, I want to survive, my fear of flying, I love my life, I love my life, I want to survive my fear of flying, I love my life.

Deep In Your Heart - Original Song by Danny Fonfeder Lyrics:
Zero Traction, tons of torque, I'm eating soup with a fork. She ran around starting fires, I drove the car with two flat tires.
Darling, has anyone tried hard to reach you, or taken the time to try and teach you to find love deep in your heart.
Darling, I'm writing this song to remind you, that I am someone you can be kind to, find love deep in your heart.
Every time I think of you, I always lose my nerve, I'm reaching out but can never seem to touch you. And every time I reach for you, you always throw a curve, I never seem to get the time to hold you.
Zero Traction, tons of torque, I'm eating soup with a fork, I just hope that someday soon, I can have some soup with a spoon.

Fearless - Original song by Danny Fonfeder played on a Blueberry Groove guitar
Lyrics to Fearless - original song by Danny Fonfeder
There was a fine upstanding man who had his head in the sand
And then one day he took a tour across the land
He said, I can't believe what I see, what I sought
Don't believe where I've been, what I bought
Can't conceive how I ran and I didn't get caught
He said, for seventeen years I worked inside a chain gang
Forty-five years since the day I heard the door bang
Fifty-five fifty-five years since the day I ran
And then I came across a woman who can stand beside a man
And keep her head up, when she held his hand
She’s the type of woman who can make me be the best that I can
She can walk through the ashes, skate across the ice
Put her hand in the fire and she doesn’t think twice
She’s the type of woman who can separate the men from the mice.
He said, for seventeen years I worked inside a chain gang
Forty-five years since the day I heard the bells clang
Fifty-five fifty-five years since the day I ran
But now I listen to the way that she moves……. She is fearless
For seventeen years I worked inside a chain gang
Forty-five years since the day I heard the door bang
Fifty-five fifty-five years since the day I ran
When we walk through the forest, she can see the trees
Stand at the shoreline, looking at the seas
There’s a typhoon coming, baby let’s enjoy the breeze
For seventeen years I worked inside a chain gang
Forty-five years since the day I heard the bells clang
Fifty-five fifty-five years since the day I ran
But now I listen to the way that she moves……. She is fearless

The Kumari (story of the living Goddess)
Lyrics by Danny Fonfeder:
Nepali legend through the years, says Goddess Kumari will appear, living in the body of a young Newari girl.
To every village teams are sent, to find where the Kumari went, Sita's parents proud and sure their daughter would endure.
And now the local kids are calling, can Sita come to play, her parents shake their heads, Sita's gone away, Sita's gone away, the Kumari lives today.
And in the village square the people cheer and celebrate, welcome the living Goddess, Kumari lives today.
Sita was a little girl, when taken to a strange new world of marble floors and walls of stone, the family lives alone.
They dress her up in sacred clothes, paint her face like days of old, she leaves the temple once a year, the king and crowds appear.
And now the tourists watch as the villagers kneel and pray to a little girl - Sita's gone away, the Kumari lives today.
At the end of hear eleventh year, Goddess Kumari will disappear, Sita goes back to her home, to live her life alone.
And so it was, and so it is, so few have lived a life like this and once again new teams are sent, to find where the Kumari went.
NOTES: this is a song I wrote about a young girl who lives in a palace in Kathmandu Nepal and is worshiped by the Nepali people as the living Goddess Kumari - I saw her once and as I looked up from the palace courtyard and she waved down to me from top floor window, she was about twelve years old and she reminded me of my daughter - this song about her and all the Kumari girls before her and after her.

"ALONE" is my own song - here are the lyrics:
When I look in your eyes, I can see my disguise in the reflection there.
And darling when i speak, the blank look on your face makes me weak.
But I didn't want to wake up alone, and I had to have a chair by your throne, and if I sinned then can I atone? But I didn't want to wake up alone.
Putting me in detention was the unconventional thing to do
But I was wrapped up in fury in front of the jury and sentenced to you
But I didn't want to wake up alone, and I had to have a chair by your throne, and if I sinned then can I atone? But I didn't want to wake up alone.
Alone, Alone, I don't want to wake up alone
and if I sinned then can I atone?
and I had to have a chair by your throne
but I didn't want to wake up alone. I didn't want to wake up alone
When I look in your eyes, I can see my disguise in the reflection there
and darling when I speak, the blank look on your face makes me weak
But I didn't want to wake up alone
