How long have you been playing?
I started playing when I was 19. I moved in with a drummer, watched him for a while then started playing along with AC DC albums. So I guess it's all Larry Mackeys fault. hahaha
What was the first concert you ever went to?
The first concert I ever saw was a Day on the Green way back when....the bill was Heart, Cheap Trick, Foreigner, AC DC and Ted Nugent.
What gear do you use?
Sigma acoustic guitar (Martin knockoff), Yamaha bass, Ibanez Roadstar 2 luthaker model electric guitar, Yamaha Custom drums 8",10",12", 13", 14", 16" toms, 14" x 6" maple snare, 22" x 18" bass, Custom A Zildjiens 8,12,15,16,17 crashes, 20 Paiste colorsound ride, 14 new beat hi hats.. Tama Iron Cobra double bass pedals
Who was your biggest musical influence growing up?
Rush. I love Neil, Alex and Geddy. Great arrangements, awesome lyrics. Each member is a virtuoso on his instrument. My friend Bob Cates turned me on to the live album "All the worlds a stage" and I was hooked
Are you in a band? Have you been in bands?
I'm currently rocking it with my band 12Thirty. We play rock leaning towards the Americana side ala Petty, Jacob Dylan, Black Crowes, etc... We met during a studio session. We play about a dozen shows a year and are in the process of venturing farther from the nest.
If you could jam with anyone, who would it be?
Me, Tom Morello, Lee Sklar, Mike Campbell and Pat Benetar on vocals.
What's the biggest audience you ever performed to? What's the smallest?
I've played to 3 people in a pub in Willits, CA. I played for over a thousand people at the Petaluma Fairgrounds (Rip City Riders hot rod and chopper show) I played a small show once with a great prog rock band called Spiral Fire. There were only 100 people there, but halfway through the show the band "lifted 4 feet off the ground, boarded a spaceship and flew to another galaxy" Some of you will know exactly what I mean.
You're stuck on a desert island and only get to bring one album with you. What do you pick?
In the age of the Ipod that's not a fair question, but I guess a box set of Yes' entire catalog would work.

Babaloo - original song by Philip Dunn A friend of mine was visiting and in a great IPA induced rant this song
began it's life. We lost the thread that day but I ran with it. Confucius say,
Being big porn star....not all its cracked up to be. Enjoy!!!

"C vs C" original song by Philip Dunn
This is one of those times where and original tune just happened real quick. A possible riff for another song and lyrics from one of many notepads. Oh well. I guess that counts too!

This is on original song that I wrote one day while thinking about all the incredibly wonderful people that I have had the pleasure of meeting since I moved to Mendocino County. Alternative medicine has its place and sometimes gains enough acceptance to move into the mainstream. I believe we are on the cusp of this change here in America.
About flippin' time. Most growers are just caring people trying to supplement their income in a beautiful area with an ailing economy. Greed is the culprit. Not the local grower. Enjoy.

OPEN YOUR EYES..... This song is inspired by all the beings living in false pretence; looking to use someone to find something....And the use-ee who realizes just before it's too late.....to....as Iron Maiden said so well....."run to the Hills". ENJOY

Here's a new song. I wanted to write something a little more edgy than the last song.
