I've been playing for 10 years, I started when I was 8 years old. I became a harpist because I was obsessed with the Aristocats (the mother cat plays a harp solo at the end of "Everybody Wants to Be a Cat"). My parents had me play piano for a few years and all I did was pluck the strings inside of my upright piano...finally they agreed that I should get harp lessons.
What gear do you use?
I have a Mahogany, Style 85, Concert Grande Lyon & Healy harp.
What's the biggest audience you ever performed to? What's the smallest?
The biggest audience I've ever performed for was when I attended Juilliard Pre-College. The orchestra that I was in, the Juilliard Pre-College Orchestra, got the special honor of playing at Alice Tully Hall.
You're stuck on a desert island and only get to bring one album with you. What do you pick?
Surprisingly, not a classical CD. I play so much classical music that I find myself being inspired by other artists. Currently, that CD would be Ingrid Michaelson's "Human Again" sound track.
