What was the first concert you ever went to?
First concert was the Enron Earth Day Festival in 2000. I went with a couple of pals from my high school and I saw some Vertical Horizon, Dido, and my favorite--the Goo Goo Dolls.
What gear do you use?
Yamaha YPG-635 keyboard. for home recording..sing on a Shure SM58.
Just got a Yamaha CP33 keyboard for gigging.

What are you looking for from Fandalism?
It would be nice for the search results to show whether or not someone has something uploaded. Perhaps I missed it...but it is tiring to have to look at everyone's profile only to find that 95% of them have nothing uploaded so they are useless to me unless I stalk them elsewhere. Thank you.
Who was your biggest musical influence growing up?
I've got a ton of influences...but the first album I ever bought was Alanis Morissette's "Jagged Little Pill". I was about 10 when it came out and I'd carry the little lyric booklet around with me and sing out of it at recess. There wasn't a bad song on that record.
When I was younger my parents played a lot of Whitney Houston, Kim Wilde, and Bonnie Tyler in the car wherever we went. The first music videos I remember are those of Michael Jackson. Moonwalker was a bizarre movie but I learned early on that Michael Jackson was King. I loved Mariah in the 90s and she's been a great vocal influence.

Are you in a band? Have you been in bands?
I sang back-up for The Ne Plus Ultra (progressive rock/trip hop) for about a year in 2007 and have recorded background vox for them on two records. Jo (lead vocals) was my voice teacher before she asked me to sing back up for a show. During that time and some time after I did some open micing with Chris Lively as Ad Fontes (folk/rock). We did that for a few years before parting ways for a while to grow. Should be singing out with him a bit soon when he releases his new EP.
I am currently working on my own originals. As I am limited to my keyboard sounds, my intermediate piano skills, and very basic knowledge of recording these scratch demos will be simple. There are a lot of sounds I love so I am hoping to meet people down the road that would help create a fusion of all this. People with an open-mind and a love of many genres. I love pop there are no limits. There's a lot of flexibility to explore different genres. I also love what rock and electronic rock brings energy-wise to the stage (love Muse, 30 Seconds to Mars...) What may end up happening is that I'll have a pop/rock project and a rock/electronic project... All contingent upon where my writing goes and what those I mesh well with will bring to the table.

If you could jam with anyone, who would it be?
Michael Jackson. King.
You're stuck on a desert island and only get to bring one album with you. What do you pick?
That's tough. Maybe something Michael Jackson so I could feel a range of emotions including the desire to dance which might make me feel better about being stuck on a desert island.
Or Alanis' "Jagged Little Pill" because the whole thing is good. But then I'd probably be angry the whole time.
