I started playing guitar when I was 12. I have owned one since I was about 5 or so, but just never learned how to play. I've always loved music of all types and the more I learn and listen to the more it drives me to want to play/write.
My favorite peices of equipment are my Ibanez SZ, Decimator Noise Gate, and my Fender Telecaster.
Who was your biggest musical influence growing up?
Metallica. I started listening to them around 1990 when their self-titled album came out and I asked for one of their albums for Christmas after that. I got Master of Puppets and it changed my life and made me want to learn every single one of the songs on it.
Are you in a band? Have you been in bands?
I'm not in a band at the moment, but I was most recently in Silence the Sorrow and City of R'lyeh a few years back.
If you could jam with anyone, who would it be?
Dimebag Darrell for sure because he's such a big influence and seemed like one of the most laid back guys in metal music. Anyone throughout history that I could have learned from and had fun jamming with. There are too many to even name.
What's the biggest audience you ever performed to? What's the smallest?
Biggest audience would have to be City of R'lyeh's first show. We played to over 200 people. There was also a show I played in with Silence the Sorrow that was about 200 people. Smallest show would have to be playing at The Mosaic in Chattanooga with Silence the Sorrow. The only people in attendance were a few of our friends and the other band that was playing.
