I've been told (by my Mum of course) that I came out of her womb singing and never stopped. I have always enjoyed entertaining people and performing before my friends and in school programs as a child...the smell of grease paint and the sound of applause and I was hooked.
What was the first concert you ever went to?
A wonderful program called "Night of a Hundred Stars" with every genre of music you can imagine...from the sounds of Broadway to heavy rockers...
What gear do you use?
I own only Peavey sound equipment
Who was your biggest musical influence growing up?
Staying with my grandparents a lot of my childhood I learned to love all their favorites...Sinatra, Como, Peggy Lee, Crosby and the big band sounds of the day.
Are you in a band? Have you been in bands?
Never became part of any band, but was the front man for the Gander Opry for one summer.and did the Iowa State Fair as well. I do concerts on occasion and church revivals, too.
If you could jam with anyone, who would it be?
Johnny Mathis and Barry Manilow...their smooth, velvet voices are so excellent and to perform with one of them would be 'to die for'. lol But Gentleman Jim Reeves and Marty Robbins are at the top of my list.
I love the way they could tell stories and make you a part of it.
What's the biggest audience you ever performed to? What's the smallest?
the smallest is easy, aside of my family, one church had 5 people and went ahead with it for them.
You're stuck on a desert island and only get to bring one album with you. What do you pick?
Any thing by Barbra Streisand especially her Broadway tunes..."Back To Broadway' 1993, Her voice and interpretation of these songs tug at my heart. Guess you could say I'm just an old romantic at the core.
